Beomgyu, a boy weighed down by loneliness, trudged home after a bitter argument with his only friend. That friend had been his entire world—his confidant, his sole companion. But now, that bond was shattered, leaving him utterly alone.
As he stepped into the quiet, familiar threshold of his house, he was met not with comfort, but with the piercing stares of his parents. Their faces were etched with anger and something far worse—disgust.
"What's going on? Why are you looking at me like that?" he asked hesitantly, fear creeping into his voice.
His mother's icy words cut through the silence like a knife. "Your friend told us... you're gay. Is it true?"
His father's cold glare bore into him, demanding confirmation. Beomgyu froze, his mind racing. How could his friend betray him like this? He had shared his deepest secret, trusting that it was safe. And now, it was out.
Before he could muster a reply, his father's hand struck his cheek with brutal force, leaving a fiery sting and a red mark in its wake. "Is. It. True?" his father bellowed, his voice trembling with rage.
Tears welled in Beomgyu's eyes as he nodded, his heart sinking into despair. He knew there was no use in denying it. His voice caught in his throat, but before he could say anything, his father grabbed him by the collar.
"Get out of my house!" his father roared. "You are no son of mine. I will not tolerate this... this disgrace!"
His mother stood silently beside his father, her face devoid of compassion. When Beomgyu tried to plead, to reason with them, her response was cold and final. "This is what you deserve."
The door slammed shut behind him, the sound reverberating through his chest like the final blow of a cruel hammer.
Standing on the doorstep, tears streaming down his face, Beomgyu choked out the words that his parents would never hear. "How could you do this to me? I'm your son. I can't help who I am. I didn't choose this. I never thought you loved me, but I didn't know you hated me this much."
The night air was cold, but it was nothing compared to the chill of rejection that had sunk into Beomgyu's soul. With nowhere to go, no one to turn to, he stumbled away from the only home he had ever known, his heart heavy with the pain of betrayal and abandonment.
