Love is a Joke (Katsu x F! Reader)

3rd person pov

Katsu and (Y/N) were hands-down the most humorous people on Genesis 11 and it seemed like they didn't take anything seriously. Though there was one thing that Katsu took seriously: His crush on (Y/N). Oh my, that boy was head over heels in love with (Y/N). (Y/N) knew that she considered Katsu to be her best friend, but she was conflicted on whether or not she wanted more.

Katsu was open about his feelings for (Y/N) with everyone except for her. (Y/N) on the other hand, covered up her conflicting feelings with a fake mindset of "love is a joke." She kept pretending that she had no romantic feelings whatsoever and that she thought love was dumb and just a pathetic joke, but Katsu could see right through her little facade. He could tell that (Y/N) had some feelings for him, though he also knew she was conflicted, and that he needed to make sure that none of the other guys stole her... especially not her friend Bilal, who clearly had feelings for her.

But in order for ANYONE to win (Y/N)'s heart, they'd have to break down the wall around it. And that's exactly what Katsu planned to do.

(Y/N)'s pov

It was another ordinary day (well, as ordinary as it could get on Genesis 11), but I didn't know that my life was about to take a dramatic turn, whether it was or wasn't for the greater good, I couldn't tell.

Like I was saying, it was an ordinary day, and I was having an ordinary conversation with my ordinary friend, Bilal. The conversation was pretty boring, and I kept drifting off, that is, until Bilal asked me a very peculiar question, "(Y/N), what would you do if someone were to profess their love for you?"

I snapped out of my head and looked at him, my eyes wide. "W-well... You know how I feel about love... It's all just some big joke, you know? And besides, who the hell would ever be in love with me?" I said, laughing awkwardly. "I know of two people who are... Their names are to be kept a secret, I mean, you probably don't even care, seeing as you think love is a joke..." Bilal trailed off, a smirk evident on his face.

I perked up uncharacteristically. Someone was in love with me?! I mean, I knew that I had made everyone else believe that I thought love was a joke, but to be honest, I had fallen for someone, but it was conflicting. The person I had fallen was my best friend, and though I didn't want to ruin our friendship, I wanted more. I. Loved. Katsu.

"Who?! You've gotta tell me!" I exclaimed.

"Well, one of them is right in front of you, that's right. I'm in love with you, (Y/N). Oh yeah, and the other person is Katsu, but that's beside the point!" Bilal grabbed my hands. "I love you! And you know, we're meant to be, (Y/N). We're soulmates!"

Oh shit... Bilal likes me?! And this ain't a joke... Wait... He also said that Katsu does too! Yes! Oh... But what do I say to Bilal... He's practically head over heels in love with me! I thought, trying to maintain an awkward smile. I had to let him down easy.

Katsu's pov

"I love you! And you know, we're meant to be, (Y/N). We're soulmates!" I overheard Bilal say.

No, no, no! This can't be happening! Bilal is gonna steal (Y/N) from me! I-I gotta stop him! I thought, running into the room. "Get away from her, Bilal!" I yelled angrily. They both turned around to face me, shocked expressions on their faces, thought (Y/N) appeared to be... Blushing?

"K-Katsu! H-hi! T-this isn't what it looks like!" She exclaimed, panicked. "Oh really? Then what exactly is going on?" I said. (Y/N) stood and ran over to me, Bilal quickly following suite.

"What's happening is-" (Y/N) tried to explain, but was cut off when Bilal said, "I simply confessed my love to (Y/N) here, and she said she doesn't really think love is a joke, and that she loves ME. So... That's really all that needs to be said. Come on, (Y/N), let's go." He grabbed her hand and tried to drag her away, but (Y/N) quickly said, "That's a lie! I don't live Bilal, I love you, Katsu... And yes, I understand that you probably don't feel the same way, but I just needed to get that off my chest."

(Y/N)'s pov

I braced myself, awaiting the consequences of letting my guard down around the guy I liked... Though instead of rejecting me right then and there, Katsu grinned and said, "You love me? And all this time I thought you only liked me as a friend... I love you too, (Y/N). So...... Will you be my girlfriend?" My eyes widened and my jaw dropped.

Katsu feels the same way?! This is AMAZING!!!!! I thought, smiling joyfully. "Yes! I'd love to be your girlfriend!!" I exclaimed. Without any more thought, I smashed my lips onto Katsu's, grinning into the kiss.

He seemed slightly surprised by the sudden affection, but he happily kissed back, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me closer. I wrapped my arms around his neck, deepening the kiss all the while.

It felt as if we would never pull away, though eventually we did have to, seeing as both of us ran out of breath.

"So," Katsu said in between breaths. "I guess love really isn't a joke, huh?" "No, it's not," I said. "Especially when you're in love with the most perfect man in the world!"
