Adriana knew what she had done was dangerous, the taste of the young Ellison's lips and she was hooked like a fish. All she could think of that week was Desmond, the feel of his arms around her waist, cupping her cheeks, and kissing her as if she was the oxygen he needed to breathe. She had never kissed a man who made her feel so desired, so sexy. Not until him.
That evening things didn't move any further, Adriana made sure of that much to Desmond's disappointment. Not only did he still have a fever, but she knew things would inevitably change far too quickly if their relationship moved in that direction. Her focus needed to be on the task at hand, that task being her work within the company.
The multi-billion dollar company he runs.
It's been a week since that day and Desmond was finally coming back into the office. Adriana had managed to come in earlier than usual to avoid physically meeting with him. Although having to catch him up throughout the week on previous projects, campaigns, and analytics analysis' she had conducted, Adriana had done so digitally.
Desmond had a feeling she was avoiding him; he didn't like it at all. After just a taste of her dark rose colored lips, he craved more. One peck wouldn't begin to quench the thirst he had for the women. The vision of her cheeks reddening as she realized what had happened between them played back into his mind causing heat to stir inside of him.
Adriana could hide all she wanted but Desmond was going to seek.
Stepping out of the Elevator, Desmond was a man on a mission heading straight to her office. The floor receptionist, Marie, waved his way with a smile before typing back onto the desktop. Without knocking, he pushed open the door to her office only to be met with the view of a platinum blonde crawling along the floor.
Esme was nothing like her older brother. While he was a businessman, running the generations old family businesses, she was a creator, activist, and woman of the world. She enjoyed traveling and helping others which is a far cry from any of the work previously done in her family. Although being different, she was never treated as such. Not by her brother, her father, or even her grandfather. In fact, her father was overjoyed at what she was able to accomplish with her passion.
Desmond was proud of all she has done but was confused as to why she was on the ground in his assistant's office.
Clearing his throat, Esme looked up noting her audience and quickly stood up. Dressed in a crinkled halter neck blue dress with matching flat braided sandals and an oversized white cardigan, she looked the opposite of all employees in the building. Yet, they all knew and loved the sweet girl.
"Hi Dez," her voice pitched heighten as she turned towards her older brother with a smile, "What are you doing here?"
"I own the building," He replies with a raised brow crossing his arms, "What are you doing here?"
"But this is Adri's office?" Esme stated deflecting his question, her smile widening as she rocked back on her heels, "And technically our family owns the building."
"Esme..." His tone was firm.
He didn't have time for her games or any surprises that always seemed to accompany Esme. He just needed to find Adriana.
"I lost my ring okay!" She blurted out her eyes darting to different areas of the room.
"Oh really..." Desmond dragged out not believing a word.
My father had gift Esme a reworked ring that belonged to our great grandmother, that ring never left her finger. Not when she showered, painted, or planted in the garden. And for that reason, among more, he didn't believe a word.
