Back in Egypt

By the time Atem was 15 he had grown into a strapping young teenager, his feature had become sharper, he was taller (although he was still shorter the other teens his age), his arms and torso became toned as he had started learning to fight and would spend hours sparring. He was a sight to behold and was fancied by many woman of the court, getting swarmed whenever his father threw lavish parties and gatherings. Though he showed the woman no interest for them, knowing that they were only after him because of his position as prince of Egypt…he only ever had eyes for one person…

As Heba grew so did his beauty and kind heart. He had gotten slightly taller but still was as head shorter than the prince, his body was slender and he moved with grace and elegancy. His smile could light up any room and his kind eyes could melt even the most heartless soul. Despite still being the prince’s personal servant, rumours of the pale beauty spread throughout the kingdom, the boy being known as the Pale lily of Egypt. And Ra help anyone that tried to gain the young man’s affection as Atem would scare them off. He refused to let anyone corrupt his little angel or try to steal him away from the prince.

While the two boys grew up together, Atem found himself falling further and further every day for Heba. He would secretly watch the other as he went about his day, admiring the way he moved and did his tasks with that breath taking smile. He would leave little gifts for the other like flowers or even games that he knew Heba would love. He wasn’t sure when his feelings for his look alike went from friendship to romantic, but all he knew is that he would one day find a way to make Heba his consort…

The pale teen may have been naive about many things but he was full aware of the prince’s feelings for him as the boy had fallen for Atem in return…which is what broke his heart. Atem was a prince and Heba was a servant…they would never be allowed to be together. But that didn’t stop the teen from enjoying his time with the other, he accepted every gift and in return he would write the most beautiful poetry for the prince. They would stay up for hours talking and being in each other’s presence and practising their most well-kept secret…

Atem had become more of his power over the darkness and fire; he could summon creatures from the shadows, making them move and around do little tricks which would bring out the sweetest little laughs from Heba as he watched. Speaking of the other boy, he had discovered an ability to grow basically anything, a plant could be withered and the boy was able to bring it back to life. He could summon little orbs of light that would float around the room before exploding in little sparks of colour. Atem loved to watch the wonder and amazement that would fall on Heba’s face whenever he used his abilities…this was a special secret between the boys, something that connected them making them believe that they were made for each other…

However fate had other plans…
