Back in Egypt.

Several days had passed since the incident and the kingdom had finally gotten back to normal, the dead had been buried and repairs to had been made to all the damages that the monsters had inflicted.

However the atmosphere in the palace was still bleak…Heba had been in the healing chambers for serval days with no sign of waking up. His back had been stitched up and wrapped, a bandage covered his mouth. The healers had tried their best to fix the damage done to the teens tongue (as the guards had tried to cut it out) but unfortunately nothing could be done and chances were he would never be able to speak again.

The news devastated Atem, never being able to hear his little ones voice was a tragedy…and it would break his angel’s heart when he woke up…

Atem refused to leave his beloved’s side. He didn’t eat or sleep, wanting to be there when Heba finally woke up. He would help the healers clean the other teens wounds and rewrap them, he would sit on the bed with Heba’s head on his lap while someone carefully poured water or broth into his mouth so that he wouldn’t starve or dehydrate. He would even help bath his little angel, not trusting anyone to be left alone with him.

It was strange for the servants to see their prince taking such care of another, they could feel the grief radiating off him, some even feeling sorry for him as the would find him sitting beside the wounded teen, reading to him as he remained unconscious.

The pharaoh was starting to get worried for his son, he had learned why this all happened and the deception the princess had played. If he hadn’t been rushing to ensure his sons future he would’ve seen right through the wenches lies…he had been so afraid of his wanting to be with some servant boy that he had ended up hurting them both in devastating ways.

He tried talking to Atem but a wall of shadows would appear around the prince and his beloved, blocking out his father or anyone else that tried to speak with him…well except Seth. Surprisingly the priest to be was the only one Atem would tolerate and allow close to him. They would talk and exchange insults, distracting the prince from the sorrow that had enslaved his heart…Seth would even convince Atem to eat every now then, saying that Heba wouldn’t want him to starve himself...in a way they grew close as friends, the prince finding the taller teen to be one of his closest confidants.
