I have been standing at the locker room's door hidden in the shadows— and spying.

Those three are really here. I thought he was just joking around. Didn't think he would actually come here.

Wait. Why am I hiding ? It's my workplace. He's been here before. It'll be alright.

Yeah tell that to your shaking hands.

She really has bad timing.

I take a deep breath and step forward from the shadows. I'll be fine. I am a professional waitress. And he is just some boy.

Some boy you lik—

Shut up. Just shut up.

As I make my way to them, Adrian suddenly looks up —as if sensing someone is coming his way— and makes eye contact with me and smiles. A full smile. With dimpes and all.

I shake my head and smile a little as I reach them. Breaking the contact with him I look at the other two to distract myself.

"Hi, welcome to 'Jack's diner'. How can I help you ?" I say sweetly, trying to get in my waitress mode.

"Hiiii, Bethie. Are you, seriously, going to be so formal with us ?" Josh whines loudly and I wince.

"Hey." He shouts as Adrian slaps him on his head and glares at him.

"How many times do I have to tell you not to call her that ?" Adrian keeps glaring at Josh as he sulks and pouts.

I roll my eyes. These two never stop.

To distract myself from their childish ways—I turn to —Chris the only level headed one and repeat my question.

"Yeah, we'll like 3 double cheeseburgers and 3 cokes." He rattles off the order and smiles at me.

Huh ! I guess we are making progress. I mentally give myself a pat on my back.

"I can order for myself." Adrian snaps at Chris who looks back at him like he is bored.

"Sure." Chris says and takes his phone out of his pocket and completely ignores the two big babies he is sitting with.

"I'll be right back with your order." I tell them and see Josh winking at me— or trying to blink at me with both his eyes. And Adrian only gives me that half smile- half smirk.

As my heart starts to thunder loudly in my chest I excuse myself—away from them and speed walk to the kitchen.

As I close the kitchen door behind me I lean my back on it and sigh. God Damn all to hell.

I don't think I'll be able to survive tonight.

"Hey, kiddo. What's going on ? Why do you look like you are about to pass out ?" Gary's says in his gruff voice.

"Oh nothing. I am fine." I wave him off and hand him the order.

"Here, order for table 21." I say as he takes it and nods his head heading to the burger making station.

Alone again, I take a deep breath and give myself a pep talk.

"Go out there. Do your job. Don't look at him. Avoid them. And that's it. Easy peasy. You can do it." I whisper as I straighten my uniform and pat my hair down.

Yeah, I can totally do this. I am a professional waitress.

I cant do this.

I really can't.

It is like IMPOSSIBLE to ignore these boys.

It's either them taking and laughing obnoxiously loud, or the girls simpering and giggling while looking at them, or Stella annoying the hell out of me by her constant double meaning taunts.
