Amelia's pov
Percy has chosen me for his quest. I couldn't believe it. After we got dismissed, I started to pack right away. I was excited but then also scared. I haven't been anywhere else since I have been at camp. I was all along with me and thoughts as I kept overthinking every possible thing that could happen. Then I heard a knock at the door. "Hey can I come in?"
"It's open." I called out as Luke walked in I turned to face him with my hand on my hips.
"What have I done now?"
"What? You didn't do anything it's just comfortable." Luke chucked as I put my hand down by my legs. "But seriously though why are you here?"
"What can't I say goodbye to my close friend?" Amused by the situation Luke decided to tease me.
"Depends...do you have a goodbye gift for me?"
"No, but I dod want to talk to you before you go on the quest." Luke sat down on my bed, waving me over to sit next to him. As I plopped down, he sighed and then began to speak again. "This quest won't be easy Amelia and I am not telling you this to scare you but I just want you to be safe. You have great skills and I know you will use them but I can't imagine losing you so I want you to be extra carful."
"Luke it's okay if anything happens I have Annabeth you know how protective she is and I am sure Percy-"
"What's with you and Percy?"
"What?" I looked at look with wide eyes wondering where this question came from.
"I am just wondering you guys are very close and all and all I am saying is I am just scared he might take my place." Luke stares down at his feet.
"Luke. Hey look at me." I grab his chin to make him look at me. "Percy only just got here and he is very nice and yes we are getting close and all and I am sure we will be close friends but Luke I will always care about you and I won't leave you like your dad. I'm not going anywhere. Well I mean I am leaving you for the quest, but I will be coming back, unless I die-"
"Amelia! Stop overthinking and you won't die. But just know if you do I will beat up the person who killed you. Come here." Luke brought me in for a hug and we both smiled he waved goodbye wishing me luck on the quest.
I started to think something was off about Luke. I mean why would he bring up Percy? And all the stuff about being close with him was weird I mean it was like he was jealous of Percy. Plus he hugged me a little too long for a "friendly" hug. I really need to stop overthinking.
Narrator pov
Little did Amelia know that Percy was outside the whole time. Was all the camp gossip Percy heard right? Did Amelia have a crush on Luke? Percy ran away before Luke could see him as he made his way to tell Grover the news. But he couldn't help think...
Did Amelia even think about Percy all the time like he thinks about her. Little does Percy know she thinks about him even more than he can imagine.
