Jungkook sat at his desk, his fingers flying over the keyboard as he tried to keep up with the relentless stream of tasks coming his way. It felt like he had been working for hours, but when he glanced at the clock, it hadn’t even been an hour since his shift started. The mountain of work in front of him seemed impossible to conquer, and the emails and assignments just kept piling up.

'What the hell is going on?' Jungkook thought as another email notification popped up on his screen. He clicked it open, his eyes widening in disbelief at the sheer volume of tasks listed out for him. It was another project, this one more complicated than the last, with a tight deadline attached.

He took a deep breath, trying to steady himself, but his hands were already starting to shake from the stress. The tasks were coming from multiple departments—IT, marketing, finance, HR—and they were all marked as urgent. It was as if the entire company had decided to dump their work on him at once.

'He’s doing this,' Jungkook thought bitterly, his jaw tightening in frustration. 'This is Taehyung’s way of punishing me.'

But there was no point in dwelling on the past. He had to focus on getting through the day, no matter how impossible it seemed. Jungkook pushed himself to keep going, forcing his tired mind to stay sharp as he tackled one task after another.

Every time he thought he was making progress, another email would pop up, adding more to his already overwhelming workload. It was like trying to put out a fire with a thimble of water—no matter how hard he tried, the flames just kept growing.

'He wants to break me,'Jungkook realized with a sinking feeling.

Jungkook felt a wave of anger rise up in him, but it was quickly followed by a sense of defeat. How could he possibly stand up to someone like Taehyung? The man had power, influence, and resources beyond anything Jungkook could ever hope to match. And now, he was using all of it to make Jungkook’s life a living hell.

As the hours dragged on, Jungkook’s frustration turned into exhaustion. His eyes burned from staring at the screen for so long, and his back ached from sitting hunched over his desk. He hadn’t even had a chance to take a break, let alone grab lunch. But there was no time to rest—not when the work kept coming in like an endless tide.

---

Jungkook leaned back in his chair, exhausted after hours of relentless work on his computer. The steady hum of the office around him faded as he took a deep breath, trying to calm the storm of thoughts swirling in his mind. He reached for the glass of water on his desk, pausing for a moment to stare at his reflection in the darkened screen of his monitor. His eyes were tired, a mirror to the unease that had been growing inside him all day.

Jungkook couldn’t ignore the obvious anymore. The unending stream of tasks thrown at him since the morning wasn’t just a coincidence—it was deliberate. A sense of realization settled over him like a heavy fog. Jimin was right. Kim Taehyung hadn’t forgiven him.

When Taehyung had spoken so sweetly and brushed off their earlier confrontation as a misunderstanding, Jungkook had foolishly believed him. He thought perhaps the CEO had let go of his grudge, that maybe he could work in peace without fearing retribution. But now, as he wiped the sweat off his brow, he understood the truth. Taehyung hadn’t forgotten anything. In fact, he was getting his revenge in the most calculated way possible—by drowning Jungkook in work, suffocating him under the weight of endless tasks.

Jungkook let out a bitter chuckle. "How could I have been so stupid?" he muttered to himself. "The man who can punish me for something as small as grabbing his hand… There’s no way he’d let this slide."
