Spending more than two days was proving to be more difficult than Su Qingya had thought considering she had a rather cheerful and hyper companion in her cabin, totally inconsistent with her silent subordinates in the intersteller era.

They first reached L Province from Province A after 10 and a half hour journey and are now reaching the Capital with a 11 hour travel from there.

Due to some technicalities in the train, they had to stop at the Capital for the night. Which wasn't very bad, considering Su Qingya wanted to take a look of the most prosperous city of the era.

Showing the letter of introduction she got from the station, Su Qingya simply booked a hotel politely declining Han Zemin's offer to stay at the compound.

'He is too trusting, considering she is still practically a total stranger, or maybe he is suspicious of something about her which makes him want to keep a look out on her.'

And neither was too good of a news to Su Qingya. She had no intention to fell in a deadlock with armed forced right after she came here. It would disrupt her from freely conducting her research in future with them keeping eyes on her.

Checking into the room, Su Qingya  checked the room for any abnormalities before realizing, that there was no AI tracker or AI spy invented yet. Force of habits.

The only thing that made her slightly happy was that the room came with an attached bathroom, which is quite rare considering the time period. However she wasn't complaining.

Su Qingya filled the wooden tub with water, placed a water heater that can be operated on batteries before changing the bed sheets.

There was no entertainment facilities like in later generations in the room despite being the best hotel in city recommended by Han Zemin. Just a large window facing the forbidden city.

Su Qingya took out a device and set it up on the floor before pressing a button. Slowly the nano chips on the device expanded the device before it was completely ready to be used.

Pressing the coordinates on the device, it surveyed the city for any familiar space travel signals for unauthorized interventions. However there was none.

She couldn't figure out how her soul travelled through space before catching the signal of the jade pearl and entering this vessel after the original owner died. She needed more data to conduct a more detailed research on it.

Before long, a beep caught her attention signalling that her bath was warm and ready for her. So after freshening up and changing into a latest trending dress of the era, Su Qingya went out to explore the city.

She had 2 hours before she had to go back to the station and board the train. And she often heard about the famous roasted ducks in the alley of the Capitals. Perhaps she could finally have a taste of the renowned dish.

The original taste was lost long in her era due to artificial feeding of ducks. But she often heard interesting stories about the dish. Legend has it that an emperor of during the Yuan Dynasty (1206-1368) occasionally hunted wild duck and then roasted it. He used a simple and original method to roast the duck. And thus the dish was invented.

It was listed as an imperial dish in the “Complete Recipes for Dishes and Beverages”, written in 1330 by Hu Sihui who was an imperial doctor. He wrote how to cook the duck in his book.

In the Ming Dynasty, when the capital was shifted from Nanjing to Beijing, Roast Duck became one of the famous official dishes. The first restaurant specializing in Peking duck was Bianyifang, which was set up in the Xianyukou, Qianmen area of Beijing in 1416.
