This story is all coming from my imagination. Some parts of the main character connect towards me. But other than that all characters, places and events are all part of my imagination. Any resemblance to actual events or locations are simply coincidental.

Thank you.

Chapter 1: First Day

Light floods the room as someone turns on my bedroom light. I'm blind for a moment waiting for my eyes to adjust to my rooms light. When my eyes finally adjust, I see my mom heading over to my curtains.

"Mom, don't open-" I start to say just as she firmly places her hands onto either side of my curtains, and opens them, "Mom!" I groan loudly as I quickly pull my comforter over my head.

"You don't want to be late for your first day of High school!" She says excitedly, but serious.

"I'm not going to be," I groan again, my comforter still covering my head from the blinding morning light.

"You will be if you don't wake up," she says in a stricter tone.

I moan, not wanting to get up. I hear my mom start to walk, and then she suddenly closes my door. Why did I have to stay up again so late reading a book?

I start to feel my eyes getting heavy. I let them close. Without knowing it, I slip into sleep again.

I sit up quickly in my bed when I hear a loud thunk. I look over to my book shelf my heart racing. I try to find what made the noise. Just as I see one of my books laying on the ground, another falls off my shelf. My eyes sharply move to my fourth shelf from the bottom, where I see my cat, Rosebud, knocking over my books as he tries to get comfortable.

"Rosebud.." I groan falling back into my bed. I'm about to close my eyes once again when my eyes land on my alarm clock. It reads 8:25am. My eyes just about fly out of their sockets and I quickly throw off my comforter jumping out of my bed and landing on the creaky cold floor as I realize what time it is. Damn it. "Mom!" I yell.

"Yeah?" I hear her yell back from down the stairs.

"What time does school start?" I respond still yelling.

"Umm, 9:15. But you have to leave by 8:52 to catch the bus,"

My eyes nearly bulge out of my head. I still have to take a shower!

"Thank you!" I quickly yell back down in a worried voice.

I run to my dresser and pull out my thick nylons, high waisted back skirt, crop top and then go to my closet to find a matching flannel. After I lay my clothing on my bed, I immediately go out of my bedroom in to the bathroom. Getting into the washroom I quickly slam the door, and move towards the shower, turning the handle to hot, then pull the nob on top of the faucet to make it a shower.

I roll my eyes. I just had to fall back asleep, didn't I?

After I'm done rinsing my body, I turn the handle to the right to turn the shower off. I open the curtain and step out of the tub onto the shower mat. My eyes narrow trying to find my towel in the heated and foggy air. My eyes open widely after a moment of looking. I forgot to get a towel.. wow. Perfect.

"Mom!" I yell, "Mom?" I yell louder. I open the bathroom door just enough for me to stick my head out. "Mom!"

Nothing.

Slowly, making a risky move, I open the door, and then race to the hallway closet.

"Rylie!" A familiar voice calls. Crap. Crap. "Rylie!" The voice calls again coming closer to the hallway.
