A/N

Hello People! I only changed a few things in the first chapter. The changes aren't drastic so if you read on I don't think you will be confused, I just think the tiny change was necessary.

Okay, so with that note, here is Chapter 2.

Chapter 2: You're Annoying.

Jennifer is one of the 'popular' ones, I guess you could say. The girl who all the boys crush on. The one who is smart as someone could be... but acts likes she dumb so cute boys can help her. She puts on this big act, and everyone buys it. Except for me. Her and I, we used to be the best of friends, always inseparable. We only met half through grade 7. I had moved houses and schools because my parent's split up. My dad was an alcoholic, and my mom and him fought all the time because of it. My mom decided that enough was enough so my mom, Phil, and I moved away from him. My dad is better now though. I see him every weekend, but it's not the same between us as it used to. Anyway, I moved in the middle of grade 7, and met Jennifer. Just before we moved I decided to cut my waist length hair down to a pixie cut and I was kind of a tomboy. I wore no makeup, had both female and male features, and skateboarded with my brother so I kind of started dressing like a dude. So, when I got to this new school everyone thought I was a boy. In the end, Jennifer was the only one that got me. We hung out 24/7, and it was just us. No boys could get in-between us. Until a quarter of the way through grade 9. Jennifer just stopped talking to me. To this day I still don't know what I did. She just threw me into the school trash like I was some un-wanted homework. According to one of my, kinda friends, she talked shit about me behind my back. And for the rest of the year I was bullied by her and her minions and she turned everyone against me. So of course, when I found out the she was going to the high school I was going to, I flipped out. I begged my mom to let me switch schools. Obviously, she didn't let me. So here I am today, walking through the halls of the high school my arch nemesis goes to. Great. Just great.

"Riles," someone speaks and snaps me out of my thoughts.

"Huh?" I ask looking up and to the familiar face.

"I've been talking to you for the past minute," my best friend Sam chuckles. He's kneeling down beside me.

I laugh awkwardly. "Oh, sorry."

"No. Don't apologize," he says shaking his head causing a chocolate brown chunks of hair to fall onto his forehead. We stare at each other for a moment before he takes my hand in his and lifts me up with his other hand on my waist.

When I get up his eyes are boring into mine, like he sees right through me. He isn't telling me something.

"Sam." I lower my voice, "Tell me."

"Were in the same homeroom," he happily says. I smile widely, but realize he's still keeping something from me when the smile he was wearing fades away.

"But?" I say anxious.

"Jennifer is in our homeroom," He says loud enough so I can hear.

"You're joking," he shakes his head, "You have to be joking," I say in a panicking voice. No, no, no. This isn't happening. This can't be happening. This means we are in the same core classes together. He shakes his head again.

Sam comes closer to me and wraps his arms around my waist tightly. I lay my head on his chest and put my arms around his torso wishing I could go back to summer. He pulls away slowly, my eyes on the ground.

"Hey, let's get to homeroom." he says in a soft tone, placing his hand underneath my chin bringing my green eyes to his hazel ones, "You will be fine. I promise." I nod, feeling warmth creep up my neck. I nod again, his thumb brushing over my cheek. I feel my cheeks heat up at his touch. Why am I feeling this way? We're just friends Rylie. He lets go and nods in the direction of the classroom.
