Throughout my time...I made many mistakes as a leader, some might say it was to be expected considering my age but i can't say such things were allowed when the price was as grave as it was.

I lost many things but none will ever come close to my losing of miss Angelica...

The Black Silence, the youngest Paladin, the Emperor's shadow, the most skilled knight and so many many more titles and tales can be told about her.

She was taken care of by the Purple tear from when she was 12 after she had left her old home(A place i have no knowledge of) until she was 18 where she had to care for herself and grow, by 20 she was given the iconic gloves and by 25 she was a known soldier in a squad known and led by a man known as Charles.

It was there that she also met Roland who would become her fiancé a few years later and the squad would end up disbanding, afterwards she became the emperor's shadow officially and was given the title of Paladin and was officially dubbed 'The Black Silence

It was safe to say she was my hero, i admired her because of her outgoing personality at the time but i never knew our fates were so deeply connected until the day of my mother's funeral...

Dark clouds...That was the only thing before my eyes, i can hear the faint cries of a little girl and the obnoxious whispers of the masses from the back, among them were my siblings, my father and a few others related to our family.

How unfair...

To think you'd die first before him. Oh mother...You were truly the most miserable woman in existence, you started this life with tears and ended it with us in tears.

Looking down, i could see that the person crying was my sister, she was on her knees before the closed pure black casket with the holy cross on it.

"I'm sorry...*Hic* I'm sorry mom...I'm sorry *Hic*" she weeped with her hand covering her mouth as i on the other hand remained silent.

"Look at him, not even a single tear for his poor mother? I guess he really is her child, so heartless and melancholic" a familiar woman's voice said from behind me.

"Yeah...What weird children..."

Glancing back, it was my older brother Schneizel's mother, a fairly old woman in comparison to my now dead mother.

I remained silent once again as i put my hand on the casket and frowned...How unfair...

I don't get it...How did she even die? That weird illness, her odd moments of happiness through it all and the absolute absence of her family. My mother hid many secrets, i was aware of that but this is far too many...Why were you happy to die, Evelyn du Britannia?...

I sighed to myself as i was about to speak to Esther to order her to stand up from the ground, seeing as there's no need to halt the funeral anymore. But unexpectedly a pair of footsteps came approaching me from behind.

"Hello there young man!" an unexpectedly upbeat voice said from behind me causing me to flinch as me and Esther both turn towards it.

There we found two people standing close to us, one was a man with short black hair and black eyes wearing a full black suit with a white shirt and a black tie.

Beside him was a woman with long white hair and bright blue eyes, she wore a turtle neck sweater alongside a necklace and a similar yet more elegant black suit.

"Huh?..." i said in confusion as she leaned close and winked at me.

"What's wrong? Flustered by finally meeting a cute lady like myself?!"
