"You will never amount to anything."
"Why is it always you that causes trouble?"
"I wish I never met you."
"...I wish you were never born."
Wooyoung gasped for air. His eyes darting around his surroundings. Where the hell was he? There was a window next to him, the curtains were drawn and he could see the city of Seoul being lively as usual. He looked downwards and saw himself dressed in a gown, lying in a bed.
Ah, the hospital.
His body relaxed a bit. He wasn't dead quite yet. From what he could remember, Yeosang had saved his life once again from being snatched away from the cold grasp of death. He sat up and ripped the IV from his hand. His head was throbbing, but it didn't amount to the pain he had in his chest. It felt as if someone had actually ripped his heart and lunges out and replaced them with nothing but dead air.
"So, you're awake."
Wooyoung looked at Yeosang whom he didn't realize was sitting next to him. Yeosang didn't return his gaze. He was too busy looking at his phone.
Wooyoung sighed. "How long was I out for?"
"You were asleep for seventeen days." Yeosang replied. His voice flat.
Wooyoung was intrigued. Not often was Yeosang in a pissy mood. He wondered who had turn his sunshine world upside down.
"You went into cardiac arrest two times." Yeosang finally looked at him. Wooyoung could tell Yeosang had been crying. His eyes were still faintly red and swollen.
Ah, it was me who upset him. I should've known.
Wooyoung laid back down and rubbed his chest. The burning sensation had started to increase at the words 'cardiac arrest.'
"I'm still alive though."
Yeosang slammed his phone onto the table next to him. "Barely, Wooyoung!" His voice cracked causing Wooyoung to turn his head away. He hated it when Yeosang became this way.
"Why didn't you tell me your parents left you with debt? Why didn't you tell me so I could help you?"
"Because I didn't need your help." Wooyoung sighed.
"I paid it off."
Wooyoung shot up immediately. Eyes widened in disbelief. It was Yeosang's turn to look away.
"Yeosang, that was $30,000."
Yeosang didn't respond.
"Yeosang! Why would you do that?" Wooyoung raised his voice. His blood was boiling. Yeosang was always doing the most to get him out of tough situations. Every time Wooyoung would tell him not to, but Yeosang did what Yeosang wanted to do.
Wooyoung cursed aloud and threw his hands up into the air in defeat. He knew this was a battle he could not win. Not against Yeosang.
"You should've come to me." Yeosang finally began to speak again. His voice more gentle now. "You know I have the money."
"Yes, how could I forget that the rich boy Yeosang has money."
Yeosang stood up. "No need to sound irritated. Wooyoung, we're 29 now. We've been friends since we were teenagers and right now I'm all you have. Just lean on me a little bit."
You'll end up walking away too in the end. They always do.
Wooyoung remained quiet. His thoughts were going crazy. How did Yeosang even find out about his debt in the first place? Did Yeosang know that he had nowhere to go as well?
