His Human

Study Time

Over the next five days, Jace had been studying every chance he could. Lucifer had told Satan that he was to help him and his brothers. The man had been getting up early and going to bed late almost every night. Fortunately, he had started sleeping in Lucifer's room as the demon had asked. But there were some nights when Jace would go to bed after Lucifer and by the time the other man had woken up, he was already awake and studying again. The only indication that Jace had even been to bed at all was because Lucifer could smell his lingering scent. Midterms were only a couple of days away and Jace refused to let up. The brothers had tried several times to hang out with Jace like usual but the other man only wanted to study. Even Lucifer hadn't seen him much, though he was glad Jace was taking this seriously. But even the eldest demon had barely seen or talked to his precious Jace. Jace was sitting in his room with his books and notes scattered across the table as he went over them. He heard a knock on the door and simply ignored it.

After all the brothers had a bad habit of just barging in regardless, he knew they would just open it and walk in. As expected the door opened while he was writing in a notebook. "I'm not interested guys, I'm busy right now," Jace said, not even bothering to look up to see who it was. "So I've heard. You've been cooped up in here for days. The others are starting to worry about you." Lucifer said as he walked in and watched Jace perk up and look over at him. He couldn't help but smirk as the other man gave him a warm smile. His smirk faded seeing that Jace had dark circles under his eyes and he looked like a mess. He had study material covering his table and floor with papers and books strewn everywhere. Lucifer frowned slightly as he walked over to Jace's table and stood beside him with his arms crossed. "Have you even left this room today?" The demon questioned while Jace scratched the back of his neck nervously.

"Um.. I went and grabbed some breakfast this morning but.. no I've been studying." Jace admitted with a sheepish smile as Lucifer sighed softly. He had actually been skipping his workouts too along with not eating as much as usual. Not intentionally of course, he would simply rather study for right now. "I figured as much. I know you're trying to ace these exams Jace but you can't neglect yourself like this. You have to take care of yourself. Go take a shower and get dressed. You're done studying for today. I'm going to take you out to dinner tonight. I want you to relax and take a break today." The demon said firmly while Jace pouted and looked away while shaking his head. "Jace I wasn't asking," Lucifer growled out with a stern glare making the other man shrink slightly in his seat.

It had been five days already of Jace going on like this and he had been so busy that he didn't realize what his human was doing to himself. The demon knew that Jace had a strong sense of determination but this was ridiculous. Lucifer sighed softly as he reached down and cupped Jace's face in his hands. He knew that Jace wanted his reward but he didn't think that the other man would go this extreme. Jace pinched the bridge of his nose and looked at the clock to see that it was almost five in the afternoon. Damn, he hadn't realized that it was so late in the day already. But he still had hours left that he could use to keep studying. He heard Lucifer clear his throat breaking his train of thought. Jace looked up at his boyfriend and saw him glaring down at him with his arms crossed. He sighed heavily and stood up from his chair and wrapped his arms around the demon. He placed his chin on top of Lucifer's head and hugged him tight. "C'mon Lucifer... Midterms are two days away and I still need to study. Look, I understand that you guys are worried but I'm fine. I promise.. I just really want to pass. Once the tests are over with then things will go back to normal." Jace tried and leaned down to plant a kiss on Lucifer's lips in hopes of persuading him.

Lucifer returned Jace's hug and wrapped his arms around his waist before pressing a kiss to his lips. He could tell that Jace wanted to get back to his studies and that he was going to be difficult about this. "You have an hour to bathe and get ready to go. And no, you can not bring your study material with you." The demon stated making Jace whine softly as he leaned down to give him another desperate kiss. "You're not going to change my mind, Jace. You need a break and if I have to drag you to the bath myself then I will." The demon said in a tone that let Jace know that he was serious. Jace let out a defeated sigh as he nodded and stepped away from the other man.
