Chapter 5

Karina was in shock. She had just slammed the door in her crushes face but she's the one being comforted. She couldn't help but smile
for a second before taking a deep breath and speaking.

"I'll explain,I guess."
She took Winter by the hand and walked back to the breakfast table. As they sat down Karina had to take a second to gather herself, Winter just sipped her tea and stayed silent, patiently waiting for her, before the silence was broken.

"Okay so, I don't know if you realised how I didn't come to school for awhile a couple of weeks back?"

Winter's intrigue showed up on her face.
"Mhm."

"Well, that's because I was taken to the hospital due to something Seojoon did.
He told me something absolutely vile about him before threatening me and um.."
She sighed. Clearly not having told anyone else about this, she was timid.

"Hey, it's okay." Winter interrupted, gently taking her hands and squeezing them lightly.
"I won't judge." She gave a reassuring look before her crush pulled her hands away, turning off the speaker that had previously been playing music on low-volume.

She was shaky, biting her lip contemplatingly ,looking down at the floor and then Winter and then decided to go for it.

She took off the cardigan she was wearing over her pyjama tank top, revealing a variety of bruises in different sizes and colors but most concerningly, burn marks. Up to second degree, her upper arms were almost covered in burns. As if that was nothing, she turned around, lifting her shirt up from the back, revealing a similar sight to her arms but with a terrifyingly deep cut.

Winter was in utter shock. How had she not noticed sooner?

"He did this because I resisted him raping me." Winter's brief thought spiral was interrupted. This guy had fucking abused her and she had no idea.
How wasn't he arrested before going missing?
How long had she endured this guys horrible treatment?

"I'm so sorry" She managed to utter before slowly getting up and holding her hands again.
Squeezing them slightly, trying to reassure her somehow despite knowing she couldn't exactly understand her pain, looking at how severe it was. She quietly dared to ask;
"Is he.. one of those.. in the wall?"
Karina nodded, still in disbelief that she just outright told someone this. It wasn't like her to be so vulnerable.

At least she had calmed her crush down about the situation before telling her about something like this.

She thought of what it would be like if she resisted at that time and this had came out in midst of an argument.
She was agitated about Winter's reaction, so she closed her eyes for a bit, expecting something hurtful when her upper right arm suddenly gained a tender warmth.

Her crushes lips next to one of her worst burn marks.
