Both girls ignored each other for the rest of the day and the one following until their team supper later that night. At around 5:30, Azzi had decided to start getting ready, starting with a shower. Paige had had a similar idea and both girls ended up walking out of their respective rooms at the same time, running into each other.
"Go ahead," Paige said, immediately turning her back to the younger girl, not wanting to hold up this conversation.
"I'll wait," Azzi said at the same time, but when she was met with the back of the blonde girl's head, she gave up whatever hope of a talk between the both. Not wanting to be annoying, she kept her shower short and changed into her outfit for the evening. The team was headed to one of their favourite restaurants, a fancy closed off area that asked a formal attire from their guests. Azzi opted for a forest green body fitting dress, one that had a sweetheart neckline allowing the smallest amount of cleavage and that stuck to her figure all while making her appear snatched.
When she walked out of the bathroom, Paige was standing in their small kitchen area looking down at her phone. At the sound of the door opening, the taller girl looked up and was met with a breath taking sight of the back of her best friends' body. Not wanting to get caught by Azzi, she quickly ran into the bathroom, taking her clothes with her. Without having realized it, her outfit was a similar colour to Azzi's. She had picked out a deep gress satin pantsuit. While her goal had not been to show off her body, her outfit also helped make her shine by allowing her eyes and complexion to glow with every angle you say her from. She applied minimal makeup, keeping it simple with mascara, blush, highlighter and lip gloss. She had put her hair up into a mid rise ponytail. Paige wasn't one to wear perfume a lot but she thought it fit the occasion and applied a small amount of her cologne before walking out of the bathroom. It was now around 6:45 and the girls needed to leave in fifteen minutes if they expected to meet their reservation time.
When they had first heard about the supper, Azzi and Paige had made plans to drive their together to avoid having to take two cars but with the current circumstances of their friendship, Paige wasn't sure what the plan was anymore, Since originally they were meant to take her car, taking a deep breath, she knocked on Azzi's door. The younger girl answered with a simple, "Come in" instead of coming to the door herself, so Paige let herself in. Sitting at her vanity, Azzi was finishing her hair. She had done 5 braids at the top of her haras tying into a half up half down hairstyle. She was currently working on her last braid but seemed to have some trouble with it since she was now undoing it and breathing loudly sounding frustrated. Paige walked over to the girl and easily enough, her hands found themselves braiding Azzi's last braid for her. Although they had opposite hair types, Paige was used to braiding the girl's hair seeing as she was the won who often braided her hair for game days. Tying it off with a watching green elastic as the other braids, her hands dropped to the younger girl's shoulders and their eyes met in the mirror.
"Thank you," Azzi whispered, leaning back into the touch of the other girl.
"You almost ready to leave?" asked Paige. Azzi answered with a soft nod before applying her signature lavender perfume that always drove Paige insane.
Backing away from the desk, Paige walked over to the bed and grabbed the jacket Azzi had planned on bringing and dropped it over her shoulders. At the proximity, Azzi could smell the musky essence coming from the girl right behind her. It was intoxicating.
"You smell good," she complimented.
"It's the one you picked out," answered Paige, her tone low.
They walked down to Paige's car in silence, keeping the no conversation for the entirety of the drive. When they walked into the restaurant, they were the last ones to have arrived. The seats had been assigned, seating them right beside each other. The diner was enjoyed by each girl, refraining from talking directly to each other, rather engaging in conversations with the teammates surrounding them. When the waiter came over to their section of the table, he seemed to be drawn to the blonde girl. Azzi sat back and watched the interaction between the both, growing more and more annoyed with the man. She was pleased with the way Paige seemed to be uninterested in the conversation but hated every moment that their eyes crossed, she hated the sparkle that shone in the man's eyes whenever Paige would laugh at his horrible jokes, she hated how the man let his fingers brush past her neck as if it was an accident. Having enough of watching their interactions, Azzi let her free hand wrap around the blonde girl's ponytail, gently pulling her head towards her. When their eyes mets, it didn't take long for Paige to understand what was annoying the younger girl and responded by pressing a kiss to her cheek and wrapping an arm around the back of her chair. When he finally got the hint and took their orders to the kitchen, the tension between the two girls reappeared at a strengthened height but Paige never removed her arm from behind the girl. Occasionally, their arms or thighs would brush the other, sending shivers down each of their spines but they remained calm until came time for the bill. Azzi took out her wallet, ready to pay their meals as she and two of the other girls at the table were expected, but instead her hands were shoved down by the girl beside her. Without even looking at her, Paige handed the waiter her card indicating that she would be paying for both girls.
