Right after his battle with Clemont, Ash went to the boarding gate and said goodbye to his friends.

Ash- Bye Clemont, bye Bonnie, see you again someday!
Pikachu- Pika! ( Bye everyone! )
They all said their goodbyes and Ash and Pikachu boarded the plane to Kanto.
Ash- You know Pikachu, it was fun traveling with them.
Pikachu- Pika pikachu. ( I know, it was so fun! )
Ash- I also hope Serena is doing well...
Pikachu- Pika? Pi-pika??... ( Oh? You like her then??... )
Ash- What? No Pikachu! I just want to know if she's ok!
Pikachu- Pikachu...Pikaaa... ( Ok then, if you say so...but I'm still shipping you both... )
Ash- Hey!
Ash looks outside the window and thinks about his journey with his friends in Kalos. The words 'Never forget us' kept echoing in his head.
Ash- Serena, Clemont, Bonnie, I'll never forget this journey with you-
Just then, the plane started to shake, and there were explosions outside...
