"I wanna kiss, kiss your eyes again, I wanna witness your eyes looking" - Anything, Adrianne Lekner

May 2nd 2002
12 years old

After it had hit ten p.m. in the house, Grace had walked the children to their rooms, after they had unsuccessfully tried to say goodnight to their father, as he was 'busy'. And by that i mean he was sorting through paperwork, seemingly ignoring the children on purpose.
All eight of them were dressed in the same blue pyjamas, with a black accent around the collar, which they wore every night. This decision was either lack of care from Reginald for what the children actually wanted to wear, or to symbolise that each children were the same, members of the umbrella academy, and nothing more.

As Bianca got to her room, expected to go to bed, she of course didn't as she usually tends to stay up later, either completing puzzles from the back of old newspapers that she had stolen from her father, or reading one of her few books on her shelf. Her most favourable book was Wuthering Heights as she read it most nights, even though she had finished it plenty times before, and therefore knew every event which occurs. Bianca enjoyed the comfort of something familiar to her, and she typically disliked things around her changing. This book was based around two people; Heathcliff and Cathrine, and Bianca enjoyed the love story amongst it, even though arguably, it wasn't one. The girl did however see this novel as a romantic one, which she deeply admired, given the circumstance that she had never experienced love in that way before; nor could she imagine it happening to her.

While sat on her bed, Bianca decided that she would continue reading that same book from where she left off, so she got up from her cross-legged position and walked over to her bookshelf, skimming it for the title she was looking for.
As she found it, she picked it up only to go back into her same position as she was on her bed. She flipped through the pages to find her bookmark, however as she found it, she heard a knock at the door; three knocks actually, in a perfect rhythmic pattern.

These knocks were highly familiar for the girl, as it was something that her and Ben had made up, as a signal to each other about who it was. Upon hearing the third knock, the girl swiftly made her way from her bed to the door, opening it slightly, while peeking her head round the corner.

"What are you doing here?" Bianca whispered to the boy outside the door in a quick-paced tone. She immediately noticed he had his shoes on, along with his jacket. The boy was carrying his backpack on his back and a flashlight in his hand, which made the girl extremely confused.

"Get your shoes on" Ben replied with a big smile plastered on his face.

"What are you talking about, Ben go back to your room you're going to get caught" The girl demanded in the same manner.

"We wont if you hurry up" He said with a hint of sarcasm in his voice.

Bianca stood there for a moment, rolled her eyes and headed back into her room. For an unfamiliar reason, Bianca did as the boy said, and took her shoes from under her bed to put them on.

Just as the girl was tying up her laces, Ben stood there for a moment, looking into her room. He started to study it while also trying to mind his own business. Ben noticed certain things about her, like how her book is open, face down onto the bed, which in his mind meant that she was reading before he knocked. Of course he knew she liked to read anyway, as that was a big thing that the pair had in common.
