"Langa Hasegawa?"
the 8 year old Langa stands up, his dad took him to the doctors, since he didn't feel good. what his dad or mom didn't know, he's been coughing blood for a month, they only found out this morning that's why they are here, something about... cancer? Langa wasn't sure what that was but he knew it was probably pretty bad.
"okay Langa, how long have you been coughing up blood?"
Langa counts on his fingers, "A month.. I think?" his father looks at him with horror on his face.
"Langa, why didn't you tell me?"
"I thought... it was normal.." he mumbles.
"It is certainly not normal I can tell you that." the doctor cuts in.
Langa nods. "okay then we need a blood test, Langa hold your fathers hand and look the other way, alright?" the doctor says.
Langa nods and grips his fathers hand anxiously looking in his fathers direction.
"Dad, we'll still be able to snow board...right?" Langa asks nervously.
"If everything is okay here I'll take you..Alright?" Langa nods
"okay."
"Alright I'm going to go and test this blood, I will be back." says the doctor.
Langa and his dad, nod and both start talking about snow boarding.
"So skateboarding is like snowboarding but on the ground will no snow?" Langa questions.
"Yes, Its what they do Instead of Snow boarding in other Places." His dad says.
Langa nods as the doctor comes back in with a frown on his face. "Langa, unfortunately you Have leukemia, Blood cancer."
Langas eyes widen, "so no Snow boarding?" Langa asks his father.
His fathers eyes well up with tears, "We will go, You just gotta Kick cancer in the butt first buddy."
Langa nods determined. "Okay so a treatment plan?" Langa's Father asks.
"Yes, I figure we start with chemo therapy an go from there, since he's only 8." the doctor says
Langa's father nods "Yes, when can we get an appointment?"
"We have one available for tomorrow. Otherwise it'd be Next month." the doctor says.
"Yeah, we can come tomorrow. Question, Is he allowed to go snow boarding a final time before treatment?"
"I don't see an issue with it. If he looks short of breath or overly tired stop early, that is a sign of an attack possibly coming in if you don't stop what you're doing." The doctor says.
His father nods and Langa looks at him with a smile. "So one more time then a break while I kick cancer in the butt?"
"Yes buddy. thank you doctor, see you tomorrow."
"Bye, see you two tomorrow." the doctor says with a smile.
Langa and His father go snow boarding and that is the last time they ever did it before...the accident.
Langa still had leukemia,but he was getting better fast he was beating cancer so badly.
One day, His father goes snow boarding, All Langa said was see you soon, I love you. god Langa wanted so so badly to go back in time and hug his father. That was the final time Langa saw him.
Langa was 14 when Him and His mom moved to Japan, they have better health care and Langas health took a turn for the worse after...The incident.
This is when Langa met Reki. Reki. He had no idea about Langa and His sickness. he didn't just turn away and say 'Ew gross' when he saw Langa just wore a beanie with no hair under. Reki didn't care.
Just Like.. Dad. Gosh that name was so distant to him now.
Reki Didn't Question Langa. Langa even found a new hobby, skateboarding in an illegal underground Club, 'S'.
That's where he met, cherry and Joe, and Miya and even shadow. except his health wasn't doing well at all. he was only getting worse. some nights it was so bad he would go home and His mom would hold him on the couch letting him cry himself to sleep.
Eventually, Joe finally took notice to his crippling health, Well only when he passed out onto him, Joe finally took notice.
Joe takes him home and questions his mother until she finally says the truth and Joe freezes. Leukemia.. He knew it made sense the Bald head and The doctor appointments.
Eventually, Langa Finally tells the other four the truth. Right before he's Hospitalized.
Well here's how it went, He beat Adam, great, then he had an attack and Joe took him and when he woke up He's met with the sight of His friends and his mother.
Langa spends days in the hospital, Until he had an attack so bad, that His heart stopped and all his friends were there to watch except shadow who escorted Miya out of the room. That was the day Langa finally Got to join his dad, only for a moment before his heart was restarted and he was alive.
Another year passes and He Finally Tells me, Reki about his past with his dad and even how he saw him that day.
2 weeks later, Langa passed away in his sleep, and finally Got to be with his dad as they watch over his mother forever.
And thats where I am. Its been three weeks since his funeral. I'm Honestly not Sad while writting this. despite being Sick for years in his life he lived it the best he could.
