The last to weeks have been slow, but it happened it finally happened! I got the job at the coffee shop/ library in town!

I stood in front of my body mirror to check myself out. I put myself into a pair of nice dark blue pair of skinny jeans and a white long sleeve shirt, I know it was summer but it has been raining a lot lately. I straightened my long brown hair and applied some mascara and I was ready to go.

I have almost an hour before I need to leave the house, so I made my way to the kitchen. I plopped some bread into the toaster and clicked it down.

As it cooked I checked my messages.

Dad: 'Did you go to the service?'
Dad: 'Please let me know?'
Dad: 'Are you okay?'

I scrolled through the other 15 messages and replied 'I'm fine and no I didn't want to.'

I was shocked to see that Blake had texted me.

Blake: 'Hey, how's summer? We need to hang out.'

I laid my phone on the counter and put my toast on the plate and buttered it. As I chewed on my food I replied to Blake.

'I'm still alive lol. I'm busy mon-thurs. Let me know whenever your free Mr.Popular.' I smiled as I pressed send.

Blake and I used to be close in 10th grade but as our Junior year went on we slowly started to drift apart. He played football and was always 'hanging with the guys'. Where I was always busy studying and trying to keep my grades up.

Now that it was summer maybe we could start hanging out again, and now that I have a job I can keep my mind off of things. At least I won't have to wait on my dad to send money, plus he wouldn't allow a job durning the school year.

As I finished my second piece of toast I checked the time '7:45am' I grabbed my small purse and walked toward the door and slipped on my vans.

I had a few extra minutes so I stopped by the store to grab a pack of gum and a blue monster. My addiction. Blue. Monsters. They could buy my love.

The coffee shop was around the corner so I was there in less than two minutes. I put my gum in my purse and placed my phone next to it.

"Hello, how may I help you?" A guy with his hair pulled back into a man bun, damn those man buns are hot, beamed a smile at me.

"I'm Mia, I was told to come in today at 8. To start my job." I smiled a bright smile and watched as he made his way around the counter.

"Oh my mom must have hired you before she left. I'm Trevor." He walked toward the back and waved his had for me to follow him.

After Trevor asked a few questions and showed me where I could put my stuff, he gave me an apron with a coffee cup on the front and in the corner my name was embroider in cursive. Cute!

"Any training?" Trevor asked as he counted the cash in the drawer.

"Yes, your mom had me come for a few days and thought my the basics." I replied as a wiped the tables down.

The coffee shop opens at 9 am and it was 10 minutes till, so we are preparing for the costumers. As I wiped the little tables I began to think about my mom, but I was pulled out of my thoughts within a couple minutes by Trevor.

"Why are you so quite?" He laughed as he asked the question.

"Well..." I paused. "No one plans a murder out loud." I gave him the best 'killer eye' that I could, but I couldn't keep a straight face. I started cracking up laughing and Trevor followed with his bright smile showing.

"Oh whatever kid." His tone was playful and sarcastic. "Now let's start the coffee pots huh?"

I put the cloth and spray bottle away and washed my hands. As I dried them on my apron I walked toward the coffee pots and began to fill the filters with the coffee beans Trevor had grounded earlier.
