As our eyes locked, and I felt a surge of electricity, a jolt of connection that seemed to pulse through me. It was as though a switch had been flipped, and suddenly, the world narrowed down to just Seth and me. The chaos of the evening fell away, replaced by an intense, almost serene focus on the man before me.

The commotion in the background turned into a muffled backdrop, like a distant radio playing softly. In that suspended moment, nothing else seemed to matter. All the earlier tension and stress seemed to dissolve, leaving behind a profound sense of calm and clarity.

Seth's eyes softened as he searched mine, and his voice, when he spoke, was tender and concerned. "Hey, are you okay—"

He paused mid-sentence as if he, too, was caught in the spell of our shared gaze. The connection felt deep, genuine, and exhilarating. It was a fleeting but powerful experience, a spark of something that felt both new and strangely familiar.

I nodded slowly, trying to ground myself in the moment. "Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks for catching me."
Seth's lips curved into a gentle, reassuring smile. "No problem," he said softly. "Just wanted to make sure you're alright."

As he gently released me, the warmth of his touch lingered, a comforting reminder of the brief but intense connection we'd shared. The background noise of Leah and Quil's argument slowly filtered back into focus, but the impact of our encounter left an undeniable mark.

I stood there lost in thought, but noticed everyone's attention was now on us. Quil looked back and forth between Seth and I. His face falling into one of annoyance.
"God damn it." Quil states and roughly gives the lanterns back to Leah. I watch as he stomps off while mumbling under his breath. How odd?

"Well-" Nessie coughs out trying to ease the odd tension in the air. "Sorry about that, Nixie."
"Oh uh, it's fine. Really." I respond and rub my arm to sooth myself. I felt frazzled. So much was going on and I felt like I couldn't focus right night.

"I don't even want to hang up these stupid lanterns now." Leah pipes out before dropping them on the ground and walking off. I frown as I watch her walk away.
"Don't mind her, she's like that. She just needs some alone time" Jacob states. I guess he noticed the look on my face. "I'm Jacob by the way." I give him a light smile.
"Nixie, but I'm sure you know that by now." I sheepishly introduce myself back.
"Sorry about my friend, he's a little out there. I'm Embry," The lanker of the guys introduces himself and I give him a small wave. I slowly turn to look at the one guy that yet to formally introduce himself to me. The guy so called, Seth.

Once again, it felt as though time slowed as our eyes locked. The world around us faded into a blur, amplifying the electric connection that seemed to bind us. The shared gaze was like a silent conversation, filled with unspoken promises and possibilities.
The moment stretched, heavy with anticipation, as if we were on the brink of something significant. I could hardly focus on the others around us, the muffled sounds of their conversations blending into the background. All that mattered was the magnetic pull between Seth and me, a powerful and undeniable force that drew me closer to him.

I hesitated, unsure of how to break the silence that crackled between us. Seth's eyes, deep and enigmatic, held mine with an intensity that seemed to pierce through the chaos of the evening. My heartbeat quickened, and I could sense a mixture of curiosity and something more profound swirling in the air.
"So, uh," Seth finally said, his voice breaking the spell, "We all planned on going to Carver Cafe for dinner tonight. You should come!"
I blinked, momentarily disoriented. The invitation felt like an unexpected but welcome escape from the tension that had been building. "That sounds... really nice," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady despite the fluttering in my chest.
"Oh, I'm Seth by the way!" He quickly adds, a boyish smile plastered on his face. Oh my Neptune he is really cute.
