After talking with Kate on the phone and agreeing to meet up with her back at school, you began to get oddly reflective. Life was just...happening too fast, you felt; first, you stood up to your school's security officer, then you find out that your long-time friend, Max, can manipulate time and now, Kate was saying she needed to talk to you as soon as possible, with you possibly having become the most supportive person of her.

"Can everything just slow down a bit? Let me breathe, maybe?" you thought to yourself.

After catching another bus back to Blackwell, you eventually found Kate sitting alone at the same bench she was yesterday, by the squirrels.

"Hey, Kate" you greeted her,
"Oh, hey, (Y/N). Thanks for coming" she replied.

You then sat down on the bench next to her, the crisp autumn breeze blowing the sweet fragrance of her perfume towards you, pleasing your senses.

"(Y/N)..." Kate began,
"Yes, Kate?",
"Why? Why did you stand up for me yesterday?" Kate asked.

This question initially puzzled you, but then you remembered how Kate had been getting treated lately; she probably wasn't used to people being on her side. Instead, she must have been feeling that the whole world was against her. You always hated that feeling.

"Because what David was doing was wrong. Someone needed to say something" you began,
"I hate bullies, Kate. More than anything. Just because he's security doesn't make him exempt from being one" you went on to explain.
"Well, it's nice to see that you care about me" said Kate.
"Of course I care, Kate. But, if I may ask, what's the deal with him. Like, why was he bothering you?" you asked,
"He's a total paranoid ass! He thinks I'm apart of the Vortex Club" Kate answered.
"Why would he think that?" you asked,
"Because I went to a Vortex Club party against my better judgement" Kate replied.
"I can't picture you going to a Vortex Club party though" you said,
"I just thought I could meet some new people" Kate explained.

"So, I'm guessing you know about the video?" Kate asked,
"The video of you at the party? Uh, I've heard of it, but I swear I haven't seen it" you said,
"I can't even watch it, (Y/N)" Kate said,
"I won't, either" you assured her,
"Thank you" Kate replied.
"Anyway, what about the video?" you asked,
"I made out with a bunch of people, but I have no memory of it" Kate answered.
"That's awful, Kate. What do you think led to that?" you asked,
"All I remember is that I took one sip of red wine and then I felt sick and dizzy. Next thing I know, I woke up in a white, bright room, I then felt a sharp sting in my neck and felt...gross afterwards" Kate shared.
"How did you end up in the room?" you asked,
"Nathan Prescott took me. He was being nice for a change when he offered to" Kate answered.
"He's nothing but trouble. He gave my friend, Warren, a black eye yesterday" you told Kate,
"He did that to Warren? Oh no, Warren is always so sweet. I knew I shouldn't have trusted Nathan. I think he or Victoria were the ones who spread the video around, too" Kate responded,
"Seems likely. I'm just so sorry that this has happened to you, Kate. I wish there was more I could do" you said empathetically.
"I just hope we can get that video taken down. What if my church sees it?" Kate asked, her voice full of dread,
"We'll get it taken down, Kate. Trust me" you assured her.

"So, why did you call me here, Kate?" you asked her,
"Well, I wanted an honest opinion from someone I can trust; I need to find out if Nathan Prescott helped me...or hurt me after that party. Should I go to the police?" Kate asked.

You contemplated how exactly to answer this question; your gut feeling was "yes", but you thought maybe Kate could use more proof. But then you figured since the video was on the web anyway, Kate could just provide some more context to it to the proper people. That should be sufficient enough evidence. You felt you should go with your gut on this one and have Kate make a decision that would be in her best interest.

"Yes, you should definitely go to the police, Kate. I totally believe every word you say. Nathan Prescott is truly dangerous" you replied,
"Bless you, (Y/N). I will go to the police...and also Principal Wells. With you as my back-up witness, they'll have to take us seriously now" Kate responded optimistically.

"Back-up witness? Well, it's fine. I've been labeled as worse" you thought to yourself.

"Actually, before we go to the cops, let's report to Principle Wells first" you suggested,
"R-really? Are you sure?" Kate asked cautiously.
"Why not? The video's on the web; we have evidence. Let's just tell him what you told me. Surely he can do... something" you said.
"(Y/N)...you're right. I'm tired of waking down the halls and getting called a 'viral slut' everyday. It's time we teach these bullies a lesson" said Kate,
"That's the spirit, Kate! Let me just grab my laptop from my room so I can show Wells the video. That will mean we'll have to watch it ourselves, too, though..." you mentioned.
"It won't be easy, but if I could have anyone go through this with, it's you, (Y/N). You and Max are the best friends I've had in a long time!" Kate told you,
"I'm glad, Kate!" you responded.

After you grabbed your laptop from your dorm, you and Kate headed towards the principle's office, ready to have an important sit-down with him. Like Kate said, it definitely wouldn't be easy, but at least you and Kate had each other. You then prepared to face the world with her.
