Tanjuro and Tanjiro were headed up the mountain with the man. He smiled the whole way up and even held Tanjiro in his arms. Tanjuro had no idea who this was, but he seemed nice and was willing to help. He explained his child's situation to the man, and he was met with content hums and nods from the man.

Tanjiro looked up at him. This man seemed funny. He blocked his nose with his tiny pudgy hands. The man looked down at Tanjiro, ticking his nose with his sharp nails. Tanjiro's eyes widened as he saw the man's light blue nails. He couldn't help but giggle as the man ticked his nose, releasing his grip on his nostrils.

"Aw, why are you blocking your nose? Do you think I'm stinky?" the man asked.

"Yes, you're stinky," Tanjiro thought.

They made their way to the house. Kie was holding the still-unnamed baby in her arms. As Tanjuro opened the door for the man, he took off his shoes and politely stepped inside. Was this really a doctor? He seemed nice enough to be one, but he didn't showcase his talents on the way here. Tanjiro took the man's hand, making him lean down to the baby's height. As Tanjiro wobbled to his mother urgently, the man supported him with his hand.

Tanjiro brought the man to his mother's room, showing him his mother's distraught state, holding another baby. The man lets go of Tanjiro's hand before tenderly petting his head. Tanjuro came into the room, seeing the man observe his other child.

"Ah, so this is the child you want me to heal? They're blind, aren't they? It's just wonderful that you were able to find me! Just wonderful! Ma'am? Do you mind if I hold your baby? I'll do my best," the man spoke in a chirpy voice.

After some convincing from Tanjuro, Kie reluctantly handed over the baby. The man smiled, before tickling the baby's tummy. A giddy laughter erupted from them. The only sound other than crying that they had heard from the baby.

"Hmm, your child's condition has been misinterpreted. They are only blind in one eye. The left eye to be precise. Otherwise, they are completely healthy," the man speaks.

"Re-really? How can you tell with just one look?" Kie asks him.

"Oh, I just noticed that one eye was focused on me and the other wasn't," he chuckled.

"Rest well, dear. When you wake up, your child will have regained full sight. Once I'm done, I'll leave."

Tanjiro tried to sleep during that time, however he couldn't. His mother rested and he could hear the cries of a baby. Was it done? Was their sibling unblinded? He climbed to his feet, trying not to wake his parents. His father originally hadn't wanted to sleep, but his drowsiness overcame him. Tanjiro was the only one awake other than the man and the baby. He toddled over to the door, before seeing the man walking over to Kie's side. She was still asleep, and he thought that the man would hurt her.

To save his mother, he ran forward. But that was when he saw that the man was holding their sibling, and was placing them next to his mother on the futon. The rainbow-eyed man looked at Tanjiro, before smiling.

"Shh, don't wake them up yet! Okay? Goodbye, dear!" the man spoke, before ruffling Tanjiro's hair with his hands.

Tanjiro hobbled forward, before mumbling, "Na-name? Your name?"

The man turned around and smiled, picking up his parasol from the floor. He opened it over his head. Tanjiro tilted his tiny head. Wasn't it bad luck to open an umbrella indoors? Didn't this man know that? He then stepped back outside into the sun, the shade from the parasol covering his whole body. His grin sent a chill down Tanjiro's spine, even if it was friendly.

"Doma. Yours, my fine boy?" Doma asked.

'My fine boy' sounded like a compliment so Tanjiro chuckled and smiled, "Tanji-o!" he spoke, not pronouncing his own name right.

"Ah, Tanji-o. Pretty name. Take care of them for me," Doma spoke before disappearing through the door.

"Will! I will!" Tanjiro chuckled as he went to the doorframe, waving goodbye to the doctor. But the doctor wasn't even outside anymore. He was about to look for Doma before he heard his mother's ecstatic voice.

"Tanjuro! Tanjiro! Come quickly! It's a miracle!"

Present:

[Name]'s eyes widened. They recognised the voice immediately. It was that doctor from 12 years ago. The one who had cured their partial blindness. But how? They were sure that Tanjiro hadn't told him of their name. He only said his own name to the doctor, even mispronouncing it. Hadn't he said, 'Tanji-o'?

"Doma. That's your name, isn't it? What are you doing here?" [Name] asked.

"Visiting, of course! Now, are you going to return that blade now? Your performance with that boulder was... thrilling..."

A/N

If you hate Doma... sorry he's gonna be around more. I've decided that [Name] 's story is going to go completely off the rails. Tanjiro will be relatively the same but you know, they're siblings. Also, I feel like this chapter is really short. Are you mad at me for that? Please don't be because I'm planning to do 3 chapters a day on the weekend.

Taisho Era Secret:
Doma knows [Name]'s name because he has purchased charcoal from Tanjiro before and recognised him as 'Tanji-o'
