"........,"

[Your Name] didn't dare look back, didn't dare gauge the distance between them, even as his lungs burned and his legs screamed for mercy.

His only one rule? Don't look back.

If [Your Name] doesn't see him, he doesn't exist, right?

Yet, the sound of footsteps pounding behind him could only mean one thing: Yoo Joonghyuk was hot on his heels, still chasing his ass like his life depended on it.

[Your Name] would laugh if the situation wasn't so dire-or if he had the breath to spare.

The wind whipped past his face, trying to peel him off the bridge like some sort of human banana

"Shit, shit, shit!" He muttered, sprinting faster, legs burning with the effort.

This was not the time for a workout, but apparently, the universe disagreed.

But just as he was about to put on another burst of speed, he slammed into something solid.

- BAM .ᐟ

The impact sent him stumbling back a few steps, and for a split second, he thought he'd run into a wall.

"Ow! What the-?!" He looked up, his eyes widening in horror.

A human, but not quite-at least, it used to be-stood before him, its eyes lifeless, skin a sickly shade of gray, and the stench of decay clinging to it like a second skin.

This was no ordinary human; it was a demonic person, a grade 9 human-type mutant infected with black ether.

"Oh, come on!"

[Your Name] groaned, his eyes darting around as more of them appeared, shuffling towards a single figure surrounded by the swarm.

Kim Dokja.

He knew this was supposed to happen-after all, he'd read the novel-but that didn't make it any less of a pain in the ass.

Bright side? KIM DOKJA .ᐟ

Some turned toward [Your Name] as one, their movements jerky and unnatural, like marionettes operated by a drunk puppeteer.

"Oh, for fuck's sake," He muttered, mentally adding this to the growing list of his terrible life choices.

If Joonghyuk didn't kill him, these things would.

[Your Name] reached into his pocket, fingers brushing against the cold metal of his trusty dagger, only to remember-yeah, no, that ain't gonna work.

The whole damn bridge was swarming with them, like an undead convention had taken place and he was the uninvited guest of honor.

No way out - he was stuck between the demon zombies and Joonghyuk's fist of fury.

No way was he going to become Joonghyuk's new punching bag today!

No way!

Backing off slowly, he recalled the briefings.

- Demonic People.

Stronger than when they were human.
