Issei's POV

Somewhere within Kuoh Academy

I found myself being questioned and scolded by Gremory-san this morning, though according to modern social standards, I have done nothing wrong. To the contrary in fact, today was the first time I helped someone without a direct profit from it, take that 'Sensei'. However, in doing so, I have broken a rule which I was not privy to prior, resulting in my current predicament. 

Rias: "You must never go near the Church again." Rias said bluntly, frustrated with me, I can clearly tell. "The Church is enemy ground for us 'Devils'. Even setting foot there would cause serious trouble for both God's and the 'Devil's' side. Haven't you realized that 'Spears of Light' would have started flying soon?" Rias continued to explain to me, made sense then, I suppose. In all depictions of media, demons and, devils can't enter into churches or holy, purified places, as God's radiant holy light pushes them away or kills them. 

Issei: "(I see... had I not left after feeling those eyes on me... I would have been attacked, likely in a group which would mean that even if I have unlocked my 'Sacred Gear', I wouldn't have stood a chance against a group larger than 10.)" Issei thought back, realizing the danger he had almost gotten himself into. He had to ask Rias, "Then, that chill I told you about, the one I felt when I went near the Church?"

Rias: "Your 'Devil's' instincts sensed danger." she said, leaning against a banister rail. "Being next to someone from the Church... is something akin to a death sentence. Especially since some of them are Excorcists, or 'Devil-purgers', affiliated with the Church, users of 'Sacred Gear'." This made Issei think about something that happened this morning, "Issei..." Rias said, getting his attention, "A 'Devil' that receives a 'Devil-Purge' is annihilated. Gone, nothingness, feeling nothing. Unable to fight back. Do you understand how serious that is?" she said, getting more serious as she finished her explanation. 

Issei: "Yes, Gremory-san. My apologies, if I had known beforehand, it would never have happened." I replied, bowing to show my penance. 

Rias: "I'm sorry, I seem to have gotten too worked up about this." Rias said, turning away from me, "Anyhow, please be more careful from now on." Walking away, I remained bowed until her footsteps faded from earshot. 

Issei: "(I see. I have made a grave error. However, there was something about that girl that made my body move on its own.)"
