Seeing rafe again

As I get out of my car staring at the house I once used to spend a lot of time at I couldn't help but be nervous I rang the doorbell getting greeted by ward "Ruby come in" he smiled I followed him to the kitchen

As I was in I see everyone doing something in the kitchen I see him I just wanted to cry the way he looked at me he just stood there in shock not saying a word

He looks different now his longish hair is gone he now has a buzz cut he looks older I see a brown haired girl standing next to him I've never seen here before

Someone say something no words can come out of my mouth "Ruby" wheezy breaks the silence I finally take my eyes off of him smiling at his sister just thinking of his name makes me feel sick "r-Ruby w-what are you doing here" rafe stutters

"Rafe there is someone I would like you to meet" I pick chase up that is hiding behind me holding Jordan's hand yes i brought Jordan for support "this is your son" his mouth drops open in shock "w-what" is all he can say "Rafe i know this is a lot to take in"

"Yeah this is a lot to take in it's been 3 years Ruby" rafe shouts "don't talk to her like that" Jordan sticks up for me "who even are you dude" rafes tone is sharp "I'm Jordan ruby's fiancé"

He doesn't say a word he has his fist into balls "I'm grace rafes girlfriend" the brown haired girl says now knowing who she is

As she said that I felt jealous and hurt I'm with Jordan now I love him so why do I feel like this "rafe we need to talk alone" he laughed "yeah I think we do" i follow him into a quiet room with chase in my arms

Rafes P.O.V

As I lock eyes with her again all the feelings I once had come flooding back I don't say anything I just look at her and the man that is beside her I don't like how close they are I can't believe my eyes she's not the 16 year old Ruby I once knew she's older everything about her has changed

I take her to a room just us I can't say anything "your probably wondering why now" I look at her "I know your mad at me rafe but I had to do what is best for my son" "our son" I spat "it wasn't easy for me I had to do it all on my own" her voice crackling "you could have told me I could have helped rubs"

She closes her eyes tears now running down her cheeks "no rafe you couldn't have you turned back to the drugs I didn't want our son seeing you like that I couldn't have our son grow up with parents that hate each other"

Them words hurt me "I never hated you" my eyes glossing over "no but I hated you rafe i couldn't have that I wasn't ready to see you" I look over at my son

He has my eyes and lips he had ruby's hair and nose "c-can I hold him" she gives me a nod handing him over "even though I hated you rafe i carried your name with me" I give her a confused look "chase Cameron" I raise my eyebrows at her "you give him my last name" she was quick to nod

I pull her into a hug as she cried it all out

Rubys P.O.V

It's been a few hours now chase loves his dad his little laugh is so cute we are leaving to get chase to bed rafe puts him into his car seat not wanting to let go "you can see him whenever you want you are his dad after all" he nods "thank you rubs"

"I missed you rubs" that nickname gives me butterflies it's been a long time since he has called me that i just want to get up and kiss him but I can't I want him to hold me in his arms I want to hear those 3 words again

"Me too rafe" he looked at me blushing then JJ came outside "what is he doing here" he spat through gritted teeth "relax JJ I'm not here for an argument I have came to see my son" JJ looks at me I nod my head "fine" he rolls his eyes

We take chase to the park him and rafe running around together playing on the swings going down the slide rafe was a good dad

"Do you want to help me put chase to bed it's his nap time" rafe smiled at me as he followed me to my room we laid there together it felt weird we haven't done this in years we must have fell asleep together but when I wake up rafe was gone

I looked at the time seeing 2:30 I quietly get up trying not to wake the sleeping baby "have you seen rafe" I asked kie who pointed to outside

I stay silent as he was right I wouldn't "rafe im getting married in a few weeks and you also have a girlfriend" he rolled his eyes "I broke up with her the day I found out about chase" a wave of relief flooded over me

Rafe stood up cupping my face I closed my eyes "I fucking love you Ruby I never stopped" I quickly opened my eyes shocked at what he just said
