!TW! EndHawks

It was a rare, quiet evening in the city when Hawks decided to drop by Endeavor’s agency unannounced. He was bored, and besides, he had a little plan to bring some fun—and maybe a bit of romance—into the Number One Hero’s life.

Hawks strolled into Endeavor’s office, a mischievous grin on his face. "Hey, big guy! Got a minute? I’ve got something cool to show you."

Endeavor barely looked up from his paperwork, his usual stern expression firmly in place. "I’m busy, Hawks. Whatever it is, it can wait."

"Oh, come on," Hawks said, leaning casually against Endeavor’s desk. "This is important. You trust me, right?"

Endeavor gave him a side-eye. "Not when you’re grinning like that, no."

Hawks chuckled. "Fair enough. But trust me on this one." Without waiting for an answer, Hawks grabbed Endeavor by the arm and yanked him out of his chair.

Reluctantly, Endeavor allowed himself to be led out of the office and onto the rooftop. The sun was setting, casting a warm, golden light over the city. It was actually quite peaceful, though Endeavor wouldn’t admit it out loud.

"Alright, what’s this about?" Endeavor asked, crossing his arms.

Hawks smirked, clearly enjoying himself. "We’re going flying."

Endeavor blinked. "We do that all the time."

"Not like this," Hawks said, stepping closer. Before Endeavor could protest, Hawks wrapped his arms around Endeavor's waist and launched them both into the air.

Endeavor tensed at the unexpected closeness, but Hawks just laughed as they soared high above the city. "Relax, Enji! You’re always so stiff. Just let go for once."

After a few moments, Endeavor did start to relax. The cool evening breeze and the sight of the city below were oddly soothing. Hawks kept them gliding at a leisurely pace, occasionally pointing out interesting sights or making light-hearted comments. Despite himself, Endeavor found it… nice.

"Alright, now for the fun part," Hawks said with a gleam in his eye. He suddenly swooped down towards a large, open plaza where a small, outdoor movie screening was taking place.

As they got closer, Endeavor noticed that the movie was one of those over-the-top, romantic comedies that he’d never willingly watch. The audience was sitting on blankets, laughing and enjoying the film. Hawks landed them gently on the edge of the crowd, then led Endeavor to an empty spot, where, to Endeavor’s surprise, a picnic blanket was already laid out.

"You planned this," Endeavor stated, his voice a mix of suspicion and disbelief.

Hawks grinned. "Guilty as charged. But hey, you’re always working, so I figured you could use a break. Besides, I wanted to see if I could get you to laugh at something other than a villain messing up."

Endeavor sighed, but there was no real heat behind it. "And you thought this would work?"

"Well, I figured it was worth a shot," Hawks said, plopping down on the blanket and patting the spot next to him.

After a moment’s hesitation, Endeavor sat down, feeling a bit ridiculous. The movie was in full swing, with the lead characters in the middle of a comical misunderstanding. Hawks, clearly enjoying the movie, leaned back on his elbows, completely at ease.

As the movie went on, Hawks started to make sarcastic commentary, mimicking the cheesy dialogue and exaggerating the characters’ actions. He was so over-the-top that Endeavor couldn’t help but crack a small smile.

Seeing this, Hawks amped up his performance. When the movie’s lead actor delivered a particularly cringe-worthy line, Hawks dramatically grabbed Endeavor’s hand and, with mock seriousness, said, "Oh, Enji, my heart burns for you like a thousand suns!"

Endeavor stared at Hawks, deadpan, as Hawks held the pose, trying not to laugh. After a beat, Endeavor finally let out a deep, rumbling chuckle. "You’re a complete idiot, you know that?"

Hawks grinned, clearly pleased with himself. "Yeah, but I made you laugh, didn’t I?"

Endeavor shook his head, still smiling. "You’re impossible."

As the movie ended and the crowd started to disperse, Hawks stood up and offered a hand to help Endeavor up. "See? Not so bad to take a break once in a while, huh?"

Endeavor took Hawks’ hand and got to his feet. "You’re lucky I don’t blast you out of the sky for pulling this stunt."

Hawks just laughed, unfazed. "Yeah, but then you’d miss all the fun."

As they flew back to Endeavor’s agency, the city lights twinkling below, Endeavor couldn’t help but admit—at least to himself—that maybe Hawks had a point. Sometimes, it was nice to just enjoy the moment, even if it was a ridiculous one orchestrated by a cheeky bird.
