Memory of you

Seungmin approached Chan's flat with a heavy heart. The days since Felix's death had been a blur of grief and numbness, but today he felt a sense of purpose. He hoped that, in some small way, he could bring a sliver of comfort to Chan. With trembling hands, he carried an envelope—a letter that Felix had left behind.

When Seungmin reached Chan's door, he hesitated for a moment. He could hear the soft murmur of the television from inside, but the silence beyond that was stark and heavy. He took a deep breath and knocked softly. After a few moments, Chan opened the door, his eyes red and tired but brightening slightly at the sight of Seungmin.

"Hey," Seungmin said quietly, trying to offer a reassuring smile. "Can I come in?"

Chan nodded, stepping aside to let Seungmin into the dimly lit living room. The room felt even emptier than before, the absence of Felix palpable in the cold space. Chan motioned for Seungmin to sit down on the couch, and Seungmin settled beside him, placing the envelope carefully on the coffee table.

"What's that?" Chan asked, his voice hoarse.

"It's a letter," Seungmin said softly. "Felix left it for you. I found it among his things."

Chan's eyes widened, a mixture of hope and sorrow flooding his expression. He reached for the envelope with trembling hands, his name written in Felix's familiar handwriting. He carefully opened it and pulled out the folded letter. Seungmin watched quietly, his heart aching for his friend.

Chan began to read aloud, his voice breaking as he struggled through the words.

Dear Chan,

If you're reading this, it means I'm not there beside you anymore. I wish I could hold you and tell you everything I want you to know, but since I can't, I hope these words will bridge the gap between us.

First, I want you to know how deeply I loved you. From the moment we met, you made my life brighter. Every day with you was a gift, a beautiful adventure I cherished more than anything. You made me laugh, you made me feel safe, and most importantly, you made me feel loved. I wish we had more time together, but life had other plans.

I know the pain you're feeling right now is overwhelming. It's okay to grieve, to feel lost. But I need you to remember that I want you to move on, to find happiness again. I've always admired your strength and your kindness. You have so much love to give, and I want you to share that with the world, even if I'm no longer a part of it.

You might feel like a piece of you is missing, and it is. But in time, you'll find that it's not a gaping void but a part of you that's grown, shaped by our time together. Embrace the memories, cherish them, but don't let them hold you back. Your future is waiting for you, and I hope it's filled with joy, love, and all the things you deserve.

Please take care of yourself. Find comfort in the people who care about you. Let them help you heal, just as you helped me. I hope you find solace in knowing that I loved you with all my heart, and that love will always be with you, guiding you through the tough times.

Remember, you're stronger than you think. You've touched so many lives, including mine. And while I won't be there to see your future, I'll be rooting for you from wherever I am. Live well, laugh often, and love deeply.

With all my love,

Felix

Chan's voice faltered, and tears streamed down his face as he finished reading. He looked up at Seungmin, his heart heavy yet strangely lighter. The letter had been a balm to his wounded soul, a final gift from Felix that spoke directly to his heart.
