As I walked towards the rooftop, I heard boys catcall me as I passed them. I wondered why Johny was with some stupid, drunk college boys whispering things about my appearance. I wasn't in the mood to fight or talk; I just wanted Johny to take me home.

As I stumbled onto the rooftop, I saw Liam standing alone, his back against the railing. He was holding something to his lips, and then he lowered it, his eyes locking onto mine.

There was a faint hint of something on his lips, a subtle sheen that caught the light. It was gone in an instant, but it left me wondering.

Liam's smile was casual, but I sensed a flicker of something else beneath the surface.
