A REALM OF WHAT IF'S

In the realm of what-ifs, our love story unfolds
A tale of could-haves, and moments left untold
If only I had faith, in the love we shared
Would our hearts still beat, as one, without a single care?

Insecurities crept in, like a thief in the night
Stealing our joy, and snuffing out the light
Doubts and fears took hold, like a deadly embrace
Choking the life, from our love's tender face

I let my flaws define me, and my worth was undone
I couldn't see, the beauty that we had begun
I let the shadows whisper, "you're not enough"
And I believed them, and our love became rough

But what if I had silenced, those inner demons' roar?
What if I had chosen, to love myself more?
Would our love have flourished, like a garden in bloom?
Would our hearts still beat, in perfect harmony's tune?

If only I had trusted, in your love's pure intent
Would our bond have strengthened, and our love been content?
If only I had spoken, my fears and doubts aloud
Would you have held me closer, and chased those shadows proud?

In this realm of what-ifs, our love story still lives
A bittersweet reminder, of what could have thrived
But even in regret, our love will always remain
A memory of what was, and what could have been gained

So let this be a lesson, to the heart that I hold
To confront my insecurities, and let love unfold
For in the end, it's not, the what-ifs that define
But the courage to love, and the heart that's truly mine.
