Father, a disgrace to parenthood

A father's love, a treasure so rare,
You had the chance, but didn't show you care.
Now I'm left, with a heart full of pain,
Longing for the love, that you never sustained.

I yearned for your guidance, your support and your might,
But you were absent, and left me to fight.
I needed your love, your encouragement and your light,
But you failed to provide, and left me in the dark of night.

Oh, how I wish, you could see the love I hold,
The love I have for you, though you've grown cold.
I wish you could feel, the longing in my soul,
The ache in my heart, that only your love can make whole.

But still I hold on, to the hope in my heart,
That one day you'll see, and play your part.
That you'll be the father, I need you to be,
And shower me with love, and set my soul free.
