You did not want to be at this party, it was certainly the last place you wanted to be. Your best friend, Eva, loved to party and you usually liked to party but in the sense of smoking with a group of friends and hanging out. Not wearing a short puff dress and you refused 6inch high heels and went with your black inch high heels.

Eva's plan was to set you up with one of her fiance's architect friend

Eva's plan was to set you up with one of her fiance's architect friend. He was only a junior architect right now but he was slowly working his way up. You have been complaining for years about being single and Eva had known ever since you were kids that you wanted the picket fence life. Your life changed directions when you didn't go to college and you didn't have a family by 24 like you planned. You were now 26 years old and filled with a bunch of architect nerds. Though on the other side of the room were the more accomplished architect's that have been here for 10 years or more. You were forcing laughter, faking smiles as you usually did in public settings. You always felt like there was sensory overload, too many noises, too many people talking for you to even think straight. They were excellent and proficent at their jobs and Justin looked up to them but he couldn't stop talking about his boss. You didn't know a good percentage that he was talking about and neither did Eva but she nodded along because she knew how excited Justin was. You brought up your vodka tonic and took a sip as you glanced around the room before your eyes stopped on a tall man with dark hair. You felt your shoulder slump as you relaxed, admiring the man from afar

He had broad shoulders and light wrinkles on his face, smile lines and eyes that made you freeze when they connected with yours. You felt a flush run up your chest as you darted your eyes away, your eyes wide as you look down at your drink and took a larger sip. Eva's eyebrow quirked up as she made eye contact with you and you shrugged it off but that's when Justin waved in the direction of the man you had just been obviously checking out. You clenched your eyes shut for a second as you hoped that it wouldn't be the same man, but as you turned your body towards the person, you were hit the realization that it was certainly the handsome man that was walking across the room, his silhoutee starting to make his way over to you. You felt embarrassed as you'd been checking him out and he had caught you. The flush that worked its way up your chest, bloomed on your cheeks. You quickly moved your hair out of your face before taking a drink and realizing was almost gone.

"Logan!" Justin greeted with a smile on his face. "This is my boss. This is my fiancee, Eva and her best friend, Audra.

"Nice to meet you, I've heard a lot about you Eva." Logan said, his voice was timber and warm, you swore you felt a shiver up your spine when he spoke. You weren't supposed to act like this around a man, you were a grown woman, you had dignity, or so you thought. Then your eyes connect with yours as he addressed you, his eyes whispering 'Have we met?' as he offered you a flirty smile. "But I haven't heard much about you, Audra, is it?"

"Yes, yup. It is Audra." You babbled, before looking away from him, your eyes darting to the ground.

"Well it's nice to meet you, I'm Logan Howlett." He introduced, putting his hand out for you to shake. You quickly looked up at his eyes, they were a green hazel color that made your heart pick up in your chest. Your hand naturally connected with his as you clutched your glass to your chest. His hand wasn't firm in the handshake, it was soft but grasped your hand in such a delicate way you wondered what his hands would feel like in other places.
