The Sea Is the Tears of Children.
The sea is the tears from the children 
Who learn of Jesus’s death, 
Their tender hearts break as they hear 
Of the cruel thorns and final breath. 

The tears from babies, pure and deep, 
Flowed freely when they understood 
The weight of the cross, the nails, the spear, 
And the loss of all that’s good. 

Those salty tears became the seas— 
The Pacific, Indian, Atlantic tides, 
Each wave a memory of their grief, 
A sorrow that never hides. 

This is why the sea is salty, 
Why the ocean’s vast and wide; 
It holds the weeping of innocent hearts, 
When they learned of the Crucified.
