I waited anxiously for Percy to return, but it seemed like he was taking forever. Impatience washed over me as I fidgeted with my necklace. "What's taking him so long?" I inquired, glancing at the others. "Maybe he had to use the bathroom?" Grover suggested, but before anyone could respond, Annabeth playfully swatted his arm.

Finally, Percy appeared, almost sprinting toward us. "Hide now!!" he exclaimed urgently, pushing me to the ground and covering my mouth as he pressed my back against the wall. "Hey!" I protested, but his urgent demeanor made me go silent. I could feel his heart pounding against my back, and it seemed to be racing even faster than mine. He glanced around anxiously to ensure no one was nearby.

"That was too close," he gasped, still keeping his hand over my mouth. "If I take my hand off, promise not to bite me?" I met his gaze, sensing the fear in his ocean-colored eyes, and nodded in agreement.

"What's happening?" I inquired as he leaned against the wall, which unexpectedly swung open, causing him to tumble through. I couldn't help but chuckle as the others gathered around. "I think he found the entrance to Medusa's basement," Annabeth remarked.

Peering into the dark depths of the basement, I felt a surge of curiosity about what lay below. "Let's go! I hear Medusa!" I urged, starting down the stairs as the sound of approaching footsteps echoed from above.

"So she's after us. What's the plan?" I asked, turning to Grover, who attempted to explain a strategy involving the shoes Luke had given us. However, as he mentioned "Maia," he suddenly began to soar into the air. "Well, we're going to need a new plan," Annabeth declared as we watched Grover's unexpected flight.

As we made our move, Percy concealed himself while I brandished my daggers and focused on channeling the magic within me. I sensed the shadows responding to my command, bending to my will. At that moment, I also felt the reassuring touch of Annabeth's hand on my back, even though she was concealed from view.  We heard Medusa come towards us "Come on Percy, I could help you save your mom" with each step but as Percy got closer with his eyes closed and held her back with the shadows with hints of purple glow in them then Grover distracted her long enough for Annabeth to put her hat on her.

Percy swang his sword riptide and the sound of I felt the sudden intense rush of energy as the flash hit the ground. My head was spinning as I tried to regain my focus and shake off the disorienting effects of the magic. The shadows slowly dissipated from my eyes, but I was still struggling to adjust. This only seemed to occur during moments of danger or when my emotions were running high. It was a strange and somewhat unsettling experience, but I knew I had to learn to control it.

Grover found his uncle as a statue and I tried to make him feel better.
I looked at Percy thinking about what Medusa said to him and how he acted so strangely before "What did you guys talk about in the kitchen?" I asked before he could avoid the subject of fighting with Annabeth.

"It doesn't matter," he said but it happened he started fighting with Annabeth bout the hat" The hat was a gift from her mom!" Grover snapped and I'll say I was proud of him. He went on to explain how we all need to get along for this quest to go right
"I chose her because I thought we never be friends and I chose you because I thought you would be on my side no matter what, " Percy said then he looked at me "And I chose her because she would make sure we never had the chance to be friends! And right now I'm feeling so alone!"

"She said if I betrayed you she leave us alone," Annabeth said.

"What did you do?" he asked " I killed her sister," she said with a smile "Medusa offered to help me save my mom if I turned on you"
"What did you do?" I asked "I cut off her head" There was warmth in his smile that made me feel safe but he didn't think we could be friends which I guess he was right I never gave him that chance.

I grabbed a box and put it on the table " I have an idea!" Percy seemed to have the idea. He took the head after turning the fury into stone and put it in the box as he gave it back to Annabeth "So you still have your mom with you" The others kept saying how this would upset the gods but Percy had a knack for that already. "I am impertinent," he said and I smiled at him.

I started sing the song Grover did before to us he didn't seem pleased
