"We need to know something more evident from this case." I said looking at everyone in the room

"Miss Mehra, are you sure that the Kulkarni's are at fault?" My assistant asked me and I glared at him

I could never be wrong but still needed more proof to win the case.

The Kulkarni's as in Amaira's family. They're having an rivalry with the Ahujas and case is something related to that.

I was busy in a meeting when maa called me and I excused myself to answer the call

"What now?" I said irritated

"Beta at least meet the Agnihotris. They're nice people and you're old enough to get married."

"Maa but-"

"At least meet them. Please, for me? It'll also be beneficial for your dad's buisness if you get married to their son." She cut me off and I hung up the phone angrily

I couldn't marry anyone. Not when I already love someone.
That, someone is Agastya. He was a senior of mine in college and we haven't met since three years. I don't even know him.
Doesn't change the fact that I love him.

But for my family's sake, I've to meet the Agnihotris.

So I left my office after finishing the meeting and went home.

"You're going to meet Agnihotris in your office outfit?" Amaira said as I was shocked to see her here

"Don't be shocked. Aunty called me. Tu toh apni bestfriend ko shaadi ho jayegi fir bhi nahi batayegi yeh samajh me aagaya." She mocked me as I stood there annoyed

Because of my dear brother Veer, Ahana isn't even talking to me properly after she left for london.
It's been two freaking years since I've met her and to be very honest, I miss her.

A lot of things changed after she left. Especially in Veer's life.

Nevermind, Amaira is still here and I'll meet Ahana once she comes back.

About Veer, he's in london. He left two months after Ahana's departure to London.

I do know that he left because of Ahana. Otherwise he wouldn't. But anyways, I live in US since seven years and came back before two years to be with my family.

Well, not just because of family. I had hope that if I come here, I'll meet Agastya somewhere but it's been two years and still, no clue.

It just hurts you know, being in one sided love with someone for so long and the fact that he doesn't even have a single clue about it. We weren't even close friends.

God knows why I fell for him.

Ignoring all the thoughts in my head, I got ready.

I wore a red kurti. The way it flows and the rich red color makes it stand out beautifully. The fabric has a luxurious sheen, adding to its elegance. The design appears to be intricate, possibly with delicate embellishments that enhance its sophistication. It's a dress that exudes grace and charm, simple yet perfect for me.

"Beta, I haven't refused to you since the moment you were born. I hope you'll understand our situation and agree to marry the guy." Maa said as she adored me and I simply nodded not knowing what to do

I got downstairs and--
I couldn't believe my eyes after I saw--
AGASTYA.

Agastya? The same guy I love? WHO'S MY CRUSH SINCE SO LONG?

I couldn't believe still I made my way and my dad introduced me to the Agnihotris

"And lastly beta, this is agastya agnihotri the guy you're going to marry." My dad said as I and Agastya smiled at each other awkwardly

Only if he knew, it wasn't awkward for me.

"Sorry I got late." A voice came from behind as I turned back

Viaan Agnihotri.
Veer's best friend since high school and my biggest headache.

He has been so arrogant since childhood and I hate him. For a certain reason

That, is the story for another day

For now I only wanted to focus on agastya and our marriage.

"You both should talk in the garden alone once before deciding anything." His mom said as we began to go but he was lost somewhere else.

"Umm, hey--" I started the conversation hoping to talk more

"Hi." He replied rudely but I tried to talk with him more

"So-- about the wedding-- are you okay with it??" I said as he took out a cigarette from his pocket and lit it up looking at me

What the fuck?
I-- nevermind I'm too traumatized to say anything right now

"Ahemm, I'd like to ask again, are you okay with the wedding?" I said as he just continued to smoke

"Yes." He answered as I felt everything. Everything that's supposed to be happy in this world.

"I'm-- Amaya." I said as I forwarded my hand to handshake

"Agastya." He just said coldly and went outside without saying anything leaving me alone

I followed him

"So, you two decided?" My parents asked as I looked at Agastya

"Yes. We're okay with it." He said as everyone started congratulating each other

Suddenly I felt an sharp gaze on me when I was standing looking at everyone

I looked here and there to find Viaan starting at me.

His gaze so sharp that if it were in his hands, he'd do something to me.

What the fuck am I thinking

Nevermind the good news is

I'm getting married to my crush.
Agastya Agnihotri.

"We'll fix the engagement date in a few days." His dad announced and we all went for dinner.
