I might have to kill myself to see him in the underworld.
"Watch this." Hades calls as I look at him. With a snap of his fingers, a blue flame lights a candle across the classroom as he looks at me. "Impressive right?" He asked as I laughed. "In your dreams." I whispered back. As I lifted my fingers, turning off the flame with a green spark out of my finger as he nodded. "Not bad." He replied as I rolled my eyes.
"What's their problem?" He asked me as he pointed to the table in front of us. It was Jasmine and Aladdin, they were sharing a raspberry tart by crossing their arms and placing the tart into each others mouths. "That's Jasmine And Aladdin, she's been in this school since she was a baby, and Aladdin joined a few months ago." I replied as the bell rang. We picked up our stuff before leaving the classroom and walking to the courtyard. "Why did Aladdin barley join the school?" He asked.
"From my understanding, he was poor or something. I'm not sure it's a long story about a genie and a lamp and a man and now they're in the school and super in love." I replied as I sat down near the fountain. It was Ulianas favorite spot because she loved the water, so we typically sat here everytime after school. "Wow." Hades whispered as he aat down next to me.
"What about you?" He asked, turning his head to look at me. "What about me?" I asked as I crossed my legs to look at him. "Have you ever been in love?" He asked. I gulped as I continued staring at him. I didn't even know if I wanted to tell him about it, I really liked being around Hades but I didn't want to casually drop this depressing trauma. "Oh you have." He spoke, assuming it from my silence as I exhaled.
"I don't know if I would call it love tho, ever since it's become a hatred." I replied as he nodded. "Still love." He spoke. "So what happened?" He asked.
"We grew up together, I was a fae so I was giving him a chance. I really liked him, and I thought he really liked me. Until one night I hurt the king when he was trying to conquer my realm." I spoke as Hades stared at my green eyes. "He was on his deathbed and demanded my death. He said that whoever killed me would marry his daughter and become king when the time came." I continued.
"But you're right here?" He asked as I nodded. "He was a coward." I said I tucked my legs into my chest.
"We were together one night and he drugged me to make the job easier. And even like that, he couldn't do it. So he decided to do cut my wings and show them to the king as 'proof' that I was dead." I spoke. He looked at me as I saw his throat swallow at what I was saying. "So you don't have wings anymore." He asked as I shook my head. "I rotated my back so he could see. Without magic you'd see two small bones sticking out. "You'd be surprised with what magic could do. It's an easy spell to make my back look normal." I replied as he nodded.
"Well, I'm sorry that this happened to you. That boy is a coward. Is he king now?" He asked. "Soon to be, I don't plan to be back there for a while, but I'll get my revenge one day" I replied as he smiled. "I would help you, with a snap of my fingers he could die like this." He said as he snapped his fingers and a blue flame lit in his index finger as well as his hair. "No I'd rather have him suffer." I replied as he nodded. "I've said this many times. But I like how you think." He replied as I smiled, feeling my cheeks burn up. He was too nice to me I almost hated it.
"But what about you, do you have someone special?" I asked as he shook his head immediately. "No, my father always forced this girl on me but she's not mine." He replied as I nodded. "Why does he force a girl on you?" I asked. "Since I'm going to be the god of the underworld, my father believes I need a queen too. It worked on Zeus he's obsessed with Hera but not me." He replied as I nodded. "So what's the girls name?" I asked him.
"Persephone, she's nice but not my type." He answered as I nodded. It got quiet for a second, we had ran out of things to say so the silence was eating up the wind as I played with my nails. I deeply wished that I could read his thoughts, my last love was far worse than him. Maybe he thought I was weak and I hated being perceived as weak. "What do you think of me?" I asked randomly.
He looked at my eyes as he sat up straight right next to me. "Why are you asking?" He asked. "I'm just curious." I answered him as he looked around before looking at me again. "Hades!" I heard a familiar voice call his name. I turned around for a quick second to see Zeus and Hera. "Give me a second." Hades said, raising his hand to them as they nodded. I turned back to look at him.
"I think you're very impulsive and revengeful. You just need to embrace it more." He replied as he started to stand up. "Embrace how?" I asked. "Don't think before you act, you doubt yourself, and you shouldn't. You're very smart Maleficent." He spoke, calling me by my first name which he hadn't done since we met. He lowered his head to face me one last time as I looked at his eyes. "And I also know that you're gorgeous." He spoke, giving me no time to fluster before he gave me a kiss on the cheek. I stood there pale for a second as he straightened up again and looked at Zeus and Hera waiting.
"I'll see you." He told me. "Where are you going?" I asked, standing up as I placed my hand on the upper sleeve of his jacket. "We have to go visit my father, I'll be back in four days." He replied as I looked at Zeus and Hera who were both staring at us as they waited for us to finish talking. "I'll see you then." I spoke nodding as he smiled. "You know it." He said. He turned to his brother before beginning to walk away. Man, I enjoyed his company. How was I gonna four days without speaking to him. I might have to kill myself to see him in the underworld.
