"This is such a waste of time," Aurora commented while drinking her whisky.

She looked through the window and saw how the people partied through the night. Tonight was the 167th anniversary of Golden Palacios mining. It's been a year since Paco died. This would have been the year that he took over the business. She would have finally retired, but faith was never on her side.

Aurora drank the whole liquor and aggressively slammed the glass against the wooden table.

Some footsteps were heard ascending the stairs; she didn't dare to look. Rebecca came on sight along with Amanda, whom she called for assistance.

"Ikaw na muna bahala sakanya kuya Amando, kanina pako nya hindi pinapakinggan pero baka sayo makinig sya," Rebecca commented before leaving to go back to the party.

Amando watched as Rebecca exited the estate. He looked at Aurora and sighed. She's doing it again, he thought to himself. Amando slowly approached her and spoke.

"Ma'am Aurora, kailangan nyo napo bumalik sa labas, baka hanapin kayo ng ibang tao," Amando stated.

"I already told Kuya Galvan na he can take over for the night. Also, I wouldn't care kung hanapin nila ako," she asked aggressively.

"Aurora, ngayon ang 167th anniversary ng family business mo, ayaw mo man lang i-celebrate kasama ang iba mong katrabaho, o pamilya?" Amando asked.

"They wouldn't know what I would feel," she commented.

Amando looked at the table and saw many empty bottles of whiskey. Sh turned around and grabbed her glass, but she realised, "Fuck the glass. She grabbed the bottle and began drinking from it.

"Aurora tama na, lasing Kana," Amando stated while grabbing the bottle away from her. Aurora scuffed and tried to get it back.

"Amando ibigay moyan sakin! Aurora stated while trying her best to grab it.

"Aurora wag Kana makulit, wala din akong panahon makiaway kasi kasi Naka inom rin ako," Amando stated while raising the bottle.

"Kung ayaw mong awayin kita, ibigay mo sakin!" She exclaimed.

The two began fighting and backing away until Aurora tripped with her heels because of her tipsiness. Eventually both of them fell; Amando quickly let go of the bottle and grabbed her; Aurora braced herself for the impact; then, unexpectedly, both of them hit the sofa, with Amando's body first hitting the soft sofa, followed by Aurora falling on his chest. The bottle fell on the floor without breaking but spilled. Amando and Aurora looked at each other; they could feel their breaths; one smelt like wine, the other smelt like ike whiskey. Their faces were inches apart from one another.

"Amando, move," she whispered.

"No," Amando commented.

Aurora slightly blushed; she rolled her eyes and began getting up, but before she knew it, she was pulled back by him, who kissed her on the lips. Aurora was taken aback; she was confused, but slowly she melted to his kiss. She held his chest, and the two began kissing on the sofa without a care for the world. Amando slowly soothes her back while Aurora plays with his hair. Eventually the two broke apart and stared at each other, the alcohol taking over them permanently. The two slowly got up and sat on the sofa beside each other. Aurora looked at his lips, and Amando looked at her eyes. Without a thought, she grabbed his collar and kissed him once more.
