Seongwha.
The plates of silver metal clashed together as the carriage wobbled on the cobbled path. They were headed for the kingdom.
It was cold, snow drenching the guards who shivered while marching down the street, spears in hand and swords at their waists. The frosty chill waved its way through the carriages which were tugged gently by horses.
Seongwha shuffled his feet while looking outside the window. He stared at the other carriages then back at his. His was shining with black and pearl white whilst the others, wood.
Outside the walls of the palace he was the favoured, the poster boy. But inside, he was the abused, the forgotten prince who just sat there prettily as the others struck and brought him to near death everyday.
He sighed and waved the thoughts off, the rough cobbles began to even out into a long driveway. They had arrived.
Black and white shone in the glow of the sun, blinding anyone who stared for too long. Seongwha felt embarrassed. All this hassle, for what? A crown upon someone's head? People kneeling to someone because of rank? What a joke.
He stared out into a crowd which quickly appeared as soon as they saw the white horses and trains of black. They were bouncing off each other trying to get closer as guards brushed them off harshly. The poor. People would call them, Seongwha saw them as nothing but his equal. Abused but still smiles.
A thud and a bump clashed against the carriage and Seongwha tumbled over, scrabbling to get back up to the seat. His face turned red. Back to reality.
"My prince!" Someone in the crowd shouted as they strode down the flat driveway. "Fill me up with your-..!" Another shouted but a guard had shoved them into the rambling crowd before he could hear the rest. Seongwha cringed, all he was seen for was his beauty. Nothing more, nothing less.
The crowd began to vanish as they entered the palace walls, the White of the kingdom shone and Seongwha felt like he would get a headache if he didn't close his eyes.
"My prince?" A guard asked as the carriage door opened, revealing a hand to help him down. He stepped out onto the clearing. black and white everything, everywhere. It made him sick.
"Thank you, guard." He mumbled as he returned his hand to himself, staring up at the castle. The spikes of it towered straight up but it felt like they pierced his skin. The dread of entering had began to fill his mind. "Do I have to?"
The guard nodded as more surrounded him, pressing him into a small square as the walked up towards the palace. The other carriages opened as people fall out. Must be so tightly packed in there. Seongwha felt bad.
"Get your dirty hands off me!" A woman squealed as she picked herself up from the ground, must of been pushed by the other twenty odd people which were in the same carriage. "Do you know who your talking to? I am the Kings best saddle!" Okay, that'll do.
Seongwha turned his head back toward the castle as they almost reached the enterance. The guards next to him felt like they've got a lot closer, too close. Seongwha barged his elbows out gently to move them away slightly but they didn't. They wouldn't.
The black and white door opened to reveal three Thrones. The centre one was the kings, left was the queens and the right was the heir. His. Out of three brothers, he was the oldest. He didn't really know why they pick the oldest and not the strongest. Odd.
"Your majesty." A guard arose from behind and bowed. His helmet at his side and his face down. Seongwha watched as the king, his father, nodded as his dark brown eyes shuffled to Seongwha and the room filled with silence.
"Don't slouch. It makes you look poor." He said coldly but simply. Could be worse. "Get ready for tonight's feast. We'll have to discuss something there. Don't be late." He turned, the black spikes of his crown merged with his hair, the white fur on his train shuffled behind him as guards and servants followed. "Bring my saddles in."
Seongwha rolled his eyes with disgust. He'd rather sleep with paid prostitutes than his own wife. He swallowed as he led his way to his chambers, up a few steps, down a few. His chamber was at the very back of the castle, the smallest room of them all.
He was sick of this. Sick of the royalty. He wished he could just vanish from the family tree and be free. Freedom is what he wanted.
"Excuse me, my prince." One of the guards beside him chirped, Seongwha looked straight at him. It was the same one from earlier. "The Queen has requested to see you before dinner."
"I'll go in a minute." He muttered as he turned away, shutting his chamber doors behind him. He looked at the room. Black and bloody white. "Wonder how the king would feel if I were to paint it.." he mumbled.
Seongwha opened the wardrobe, he selected a white tunic, black bottoms and black corset combo. Along with a small delicate black crown. He sat it gently on his black hair, staring at the mirror. He looked like his father. He snarled at himself as he dressed. He picked some gold dangly earrings to give the outfit a bit of color.
That'll do. He smiled as he walked out and into the hall, towards the Queens chambers. It felt like she had a whole floor to herself. He clambered up the stairs. As high as her ego as well.
"The prince is here!" A maid had spoke and rustles that echoed from the door got louder. Seongwha froze still, a hint of fear filled him.
The doors opened to reveal the Queen, white hair and a white crown. Black fur train. Opposite to the kings."In. Now." She hissed as she grabbed him by the arm, her nails digging into Seongwha's skin. She flung him to a chair. "Sit." He did so.
"You wanted to see me, my Queen." He addressed as he sat up straight, like she had taught him. Here they go..
"I just wanted to remind you, on how things work here. Since you've spent a full week away." She spat as she circled the chair. She gripped onto his shoulder causing him to shiver at her touch.
With a harsh shove he crashed to the ground, he grunted as he landed on the white hard floor. Great. He wanted to move, but he didn't dare.
"Stand." He did so. "You look silly with that frown on your face." She said, grabbing hold of his chin. She tugged gently until she forced a smile out of him. Please stop.
"Better." She smiled with a devilish tone, Seongwha stared at her golden eyes, hatred on his. "Don't stare. It's rude."
She flung her other hand and swiped it at his face, hard. He flung his head to the side but didn't move. He waited for the Queen to. She twisted his head to meet her face once more. "Be good. Dinners ready."
