The city was wrapped in the warm hues of a late summer afternoon, the sun casting long

shadows across the streets of Tokyo. The air was thick with the scent of blooming flowers,

mingling with the distant hum of cicadas. You found yourself walking the familiar path to Jujutsu High, your mind lost in thought. It was just another ordinary day—until it wasn't.

Satoru Gojo, your best friend since the beginning of your first year, had been acting strange lately. At first, you didn't notice. Gojo was always the over-the-top type, always brimming with energy and confidence that bordered on arrogance. But recently, his behavior had taken on a different tone—one that was more clingy, more attentive than usual.

As you turned the corner, there he was, leaning casually against the school gate, sunglasses perched on his nose, despite the setting sun. His white hair glowed in the evening light, and his grin widened the moment he saw you.

"Y/N!" Satoru called out, pushing off the gate and striding towards you. His voice was cheerful, as always, but there was something else in his eyes—something you couldn't quite place.

"Hey, Satoru," you replied with a smile, trying to ignore the way your heart skipped a beat when he wrapped an arm around your shoulders, pulling you into a side hug. You were used to his touchy-feely nature, but today, it felt different. More intense.

"Guess what? I got us a mission together," he announced, his excitement bubbling over. "It's supposed to be easy, but you know me, I wouldn't trust anyone else to watch my back."

You chuckled, trying to play it cool despite the fluttering in your chest. "Yeah, right. You just want to show off."

"Maybe," he teased, his grin widening, "but you know I'm the strongest. And I like having you around. Makes the job more... interesting."

There it was again, that lingering look in his eyes. It wasn't the usual cocky gleam; it was softer, almost... affectionate. You brushed it off, not wanting to overthink things. Satoru was your best friend, after all. There was no way he'd see you as anything more, right?

As you walked together towards the mission site, Satoru was unusually quiet. Normally, he would be talking your ear off about some new technique he was working on or teasing you about your latest crush. But today, he seemed lost in thought, glancing at you more often than usual.

"Hey, Y/N," he said suddenly, breaking the silence. "Do you ever think about what we'll be like in the future?"

You looked up at him, puzzled by the question. "What do you mean?"

"I mean, do you think we'll still be doing this? You and me, fighting curses, hanging out... being best friends?"

You shrugged, a small smile tugging at your lips. "I hope so. I can't imagine doing this without you."

Satoru's expression softened, and for a moment, you thought you saw a hint of vulnerability in his eyes. But just as quickly as it appeared, it was gone, replaced by his usual confident smirk."Good," he said, ruffling your hair playfully. "Because I don't plan on letting you go anytime soon."

Your heart skipped another beat, and you silently cursed yourself for reacting this way. It was just Satoru being Satoru, right? There was nothing more to it.

But as the two of you continued your walk, the setting sun casting long shadows on the ground, you couldn't shake the feeling that something had shifted between you. Satoru was still your best friend, but there was a new tension in the air—a tension that made you wonder if maybe, just maybe, things were starting to change.

And if that was the case... what would that mean for the two of you?
