(a/n- since im lazy imma use first names cuz i can)
The next day dawned with a mix of excitement and nervous anticipation. You and Gojo had agreed to tell Geto and Shoko about your relationship, but the thought of it made your stomach churn with unease. It wasn't that you didn't trust your friends; you just weren't sure how they'd react, and the possibility of things changing between the four of you weighed heavily on your mind.
Gojo, on the other hand, seemed completely at ease as the two of you made your way to the usual spot where you and your friends met up. He was his usual playful self, cracking jokes and making light conversation, but you could tell there was a slight tension in the way his hand gripped yours a little tighter than usual.
"Relax," he said, giving you a reassuring smile as you approached the meeting spot. "It's just Geto and Shoko. They're not going to freak out."
"I know," you replied, though your voice was laced with uncertainty. "I just... I don't want anything to change between us. We've all been friends for so long."
Gojo squeezed your hand, his expression softening. "Nothing's going to change. And if it does, it'll be for the better. Trust me."
You nodded, trying to take comfort in his words, but the knot in your stomach remained.
When you arrived at the usual spot, Geto and Shoko were already there, lounging on the grass with a casual air. They greeted you both with their usual friendly banter, and for a moment, it felt like everything was as it had always been.
But then Gojo shot you a glance, a silent signal that it was time, and your heart skipped a beat.
"So," Gojo began, leaning back on his hands as he looked at his two friends. "We've got something to tell you guys."
Geto raised an eyebrow, his expression curious. "Oh? What's up?"
You glanced at Gojo, who nodded encouragingly, before taking a deep breath. "Um, well... Gojo and I are... we're kind of... together."
For a moment, there was silence as the words hung in the air, and you felt your heart pound in your chest. You could see Geto and Shoko processing what you'd just said, their expressions unreadable.
And then, Geto's face split into a wide grin. "Well, it's about time!"
Shoko, who had been sipping her drink, nearly choked in surprise. "Wait, seriously? You two? Together?"
Gojo laughed, his usual cocky grin back in place. "Yep. Surprised?"
Shoko shook her head, still looking a little stunned. "Not surprised, exactly. Just... wow. I mean, we always thought you two had something going on, but I didn't expect you to actually admit it."
Geto leaned back, folding his arms behind his head as he grinned up at the sky. "This is great. I was starting to think I'd have to step in and play matchmaker."
You felt a wave of relief wash over you as you realized that Geto and Shoko were taking the news much better than you'd anticipated. They were teasing, yes, but there was no hint of awkwardness or discomfort—just the usual camaraderie that you'd always shared.
"So, how long has this been going on?" Shoko asked, her curiosity piqued.
Gojo shrugged, glancing at you with a mischievous smile. "Not long. We just realized it recently."
You nodded in agreement. "Yeah, it's still new."
Geto shot you a knowing look, his grin widening. "New, huh? So that's why you two have been acting all weird lately."
You blushed, remembering all the stolen glances and lingering touches that you and Gojo had shared over the past few days. "We weren't that obvious, were we?"
"Oh, you were," Shoko said with a smirk. "But don't worry, it was cute."
Gojo laughed, leaning over to give you a quick kiss on the cheek. "See? I told you they'd be cool with it."
You smiled, feeling the last of your anxiety melt away. "Yeah, you were right."
As the four of you continued to talk and joke around, the conversation naturally shifted away from your relationship and back to the usual topics—school, missions, and the latest gossip. It felt like nothing had changed, just as Gojo had promised.
But there was one thing that had changed, and it was the way you felt when Gojo's hand found yours under the table, his fingers intertwining with yours in a gentle squeeze. It was a small, simple gesture, but it meant everything to you.
Later that evening, as the sun began to set, Gojo suggested that the two of you go for a walk, leaving Geto and Shoko to their own devices. You agreed, and the two of you strolled through the quiet streets, the cool evening air refreshing against your skin.
As you walked, Gojo's arm found its way around your shoulders, pulling you close. You leaned into him, feeling a sense of contentment that you hadn't felt in a long time.
"See?" Gojo said, his voice soft as he pressed a kiss to the top of your head. "I told you everything would be fine."
You smiled up at him, feeling a rush of affection. "Yeah, you did."
Gojo's hand slid down to your waist, pulling you even closer as he leaned in to kiss you. This kiss was different from the ones you'd shared before—it was slower, deeper, filled with a tenderness that made your heart ache in the best way possible.
When he finally pulled back, his eyes were bright with something unspoken, something that made your breath catch in your throat.
"What is it?" you asked, your voice barely more than a whisper.
Gojo smiled, his gaze soft as he reached up to brush a strand of hair behind your ear. "I'm just... really happy. I didn't think I could feel like this, but with you... everything just makes sense."
Your heart swelled at his words, and you leaned up to kiss him again, pouring all of your emotions into the gesture. When you pulled back, you rested your forehead against his, your eyes closed as you savored the moment.
"I'm happy too," you whispered, your voice full of emotion. "I'm so glad we're doing this, Gojo."
"Me too," he replied, his voice just as soft.
The two of you stood there for a while, just holding each other, the world around you fading into the background. It didn't matter what the future held or what challenges you might face—right now, all that mattered was that you were together.
Eventually, you began to walk again, your hands intertwined as you made your way back to the dorms. The night was quiet, the stars twinkling above you like tiny beacons of light, and you felt a sense of peace that you hadn't known was possible.
As you reached the entrance to your dorm, Gojo pulled you into one last kiss, this one soft and lingering, as if he didn't want the moment to end.
"Goodnight, Y/N," he murmured against your lips, his voice filled with warmth.
"Goodnight, Gojo," you replied, smiling as you pulled away.
You watched him walk away, his figure disappearing into the shadows, and you couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation for what was to come. There were still so many things to figure out, so many emotions to navigate, but you knew that with Gojo by your side, you could face anything.
And as you lay in bed that night, your thoughts full of him, you couldn't help but smile, knowing that this was just the beginning of something incredible.
