Amrita Pov:-

What? Why is he calling me?

But without creating any trouble, I moved forward and taking some steps ahead, I stopped and stood still like a statue, waiting for his next order.

But to my surprise, he said nothing and just stared at me as this is not the first time he has seen me. I don't know what to do so I just stood there and with my trembling body, I am trying my best to not let the heavy plate fall from my hands.

Just then he said,"keep the thalis on the table and leave."

Oh, thank god. Now I can relax a bit and I stepped forward to keep the thali on the wooden dining table and so did the other ladies and then started leaving.

Just as I was about to move forward with them,"not you." I heard him saying and just then, maa turned her head towards me.

I fearfully looked at her and in gesture asked her what to do but she said nothing and then moved on, as if the king noticed her stopping.

I turned towards the king and bowed down because I knew my manners and noticed that there was no one except the king and me in this room. Great!

"What are you doing standing there?"

"Huh?" I wishpered but quickly covered my mouth afraid if I crossed the line.

"Aren't you going to serve?"

Oh, yeah. I have to serve him. Where have you left your brains' at? Let's just get over with it. And I moved forward and one by one served him everything and when I was done, I took back my steps and just stood there.

"Sit."

Huh? Did I hear it right? Surely, he didn't tell me to sit, right? Wait, he did. Did I do something wrong? Oh god, I shouldn't have come here. What turned my mind, I don't know but I think I dropped the axe on my own foot.

I sat on quite a far chair from him but didn't dare raise my head. And I think it was sometime when I raised my head a little just to check whether he was eating or not but to my shock, he was not eating at all, instead just staring at me.

Just how much does he take pleasure in staring at me? But I can't even ask him about it.

"Aren't you going to eat?" I asked him in almost a wishper to which he replied,"I am waiting for you to sit near me."

"But your majesty-"

"I don't like repeating myself but I already did once for you. Don't test me anymore."

And I stood up from that chair and sat on the one which just beside him. Now what? I don't want to raise my head again as he might consider it a disrespect towards him.

But daring a little bit won't cost me anything right? So I raised my eyes a little and through my veil, I saw him eating the food but his eyes never leaving my face. Why is he so persistent on my face?

I sat there quietly the entire time he was eating. And only stood up when he was finished, to give him the water in order to wash his hands.

When he washed his hands, he forwarded his wet hands towards me and just kept staring but when he noticed I was just standing still, he raised his eyebrow and looked strangely at me.

What am I supposed to do now? Should I dry his hands? Or should I give him something in it? I am really clueless right now.

"Haath nhi pochengi aap?" (Won't you dry my hands?)
