i make my way down to the beach and i spot him laying down on a towel, propped up leaning back onto his elbows.
I walk over to him and lay down on the towel he has laid out next to him. "hey sereia." he begins "hi mattheo." i reply, my eyes closed. "this feels weird, us being so distant." "you do realise this is your doing, right?" i respond, dumbfounded that he is trying to play that card. "yes i know, i just hate it so much." "look, you know i don't hate you, i could never hate you but that was low." i explain and he hums in agreement.
"just for the record, you were never a game and i was never trying to be with you to prove i was better than theodore." he clears up, i want to believe him but i can't. "yeah, it's fine. i said that in the heat of the moment anyway." i deflect. "no you didn't, and i get where it came from. i don't blame you for saying that." "thanks matt." "but i need you to know i still care about you and insane amount, not one hour has gone by where i don't think of you." "i still care about you too but it's over, and i can't move on from you if we keep doing this so im sorry if you expected us to get back together from this but we aren't." i reply, leaning back on my elbows.
"i know. i don't doubt you know what you're doing but god, when you're right next to me, wearing next to nothing, it's hard to contain myself from needing you on me again." "you can't flatter me back with you." "worth a shot?" he jokes and we both laugh.
