" People still talk about Pandapocalypse 2002. Mom and I just call it... growing pains."

Mei, Ming and Qiao are all praying at the temple. Ming groans and stops, picking up her small tamagotchi. "This thing's hungry all the time" she said, spamming the buttons and feeding the hungry toy.

"Eat up, little one. Oh, your do hungry" she cood. Qiao laughed loudly and stood up, and Mei just turned to the camera and broke the fourth wall.
"What? Mr. Gal had to put her panda in something. You should see grandmas!"

"Who are you talking to?" Qiao asked raising a brow and Mei just stuck her tongue out, making Qiao chuckle.

The three women went outside the temple, all of them taking a deep breath in unison. Mei looked up at her mother and smirked confidently "you ready?"

Ming nodded "let's do this!"

The doors of the temple opened and Mei and Qiao greeted all the visitors. Mei turned into her panda and the large crowd waiting outside cheered loudly.

The whole temple was busy, Jin was giving tours, Qiao was selling souvenirs. Ming was filling in with a marker their goal to repair the SkyDome, but her face fell when she saw amount of money they needed to raise.

Mei was talking photos with people when her friends busted through the door. Mei cheered and ran over to them
"Ready to get your karaoke on?" Miriam asked and Mei cheered "totally"

Mei turned around to her family. "Bye mom! Bye dad! Bye Qiao!"

Ming frowned when she saw Mei "hang on, your not going out like that are you?" She said pointing at Meis half human, half Panda look

Mei just smiled and hugged her mom "I'll be back before dinner, okay?"

Ming nodded and spoke up, nervously walking over to Meis friends "oh uh, your welcome to join us"

Meis friends beamed "for Mr lees cooking. Yes!"

Mei started walking off with her friends while Ming yelled at her to be careful. Before the friend group could leave the temple. Qiao stopped Mei. The young girl raised a brow and Qiao pulled out a bunch of cash "don't buy too many sweets" she said smiling and Mei gasped, giving her sister a massive hug. Qiao was caught by surprise but hugged the girl back.

"Thanks Qiao, and thanks for covering for me dad!" Mei called and Jin put on a cardboard box version of Meis Panda.

Mei and her friends walked off. Mei looked back at her family, at her mother talking to the visitors, to her dad chatting pretending to be the panda and to her sister talking to some tourists.

"Sometimes I miss how things were, but nothing stays the same forever"

Ming watched Mei leave with a smile on her face.

"We've all got an inner beast. We've all got a messy, loud, weird parts of ourselves hidden away. And the lot of us never let it out..."

"But I did"

"How about you?"

Omg omg, OH MY GOD. I finally finished this book. It's been 2 LONG years, I started this in November of 2022 and now it's August 2024. This means so much to me, writing stories has always been a massive hobby of mine, and I'm so glad I get to share it with such amazing people.

Thank you everyone for being so patient with me taking forever to release chapters, I know it's been slow.

I'm planning to add maybe 1 or 2 more chapters specifically dedicated to Qiao since she's underrated in her own book. So expect another chapter coming soon.

Also! I'm going to start writing my new book, it's going to be a Rengoku x reader fanfic!!! I feel like there isn't much on him here on wattpad so, I'm making my own.
