Chapter 4

A/N: Sorry for not updating in a couple of days. I've been doing other things. I might be doing another story. If I do, it will be a collab with my friend. We are still thinking about it, so no promises. Comment if you would like to read my stories from me.

Sapphire's POV (whaaaaaaaat?)

The second I heard Chris talk, I knew what happened. My mom has done this several times before. Before Chris or the twins were born, my mom was in an insane asylum, leaving me to live with my grandparents for three months. Ever since, she has her break downs, and goes insane. This is the second one ever since Chris was born, which was 13 years. One was two weeks after he was born, and one was three years after the twins were born. Chris is 13 and the twins are 5.

My house isn't far from Amethyst's, it's just down a few houses, so it didn't take long to get there. We went in through my bedroom window, because we thought it would be the less stupid option. When we got into my room, I could see all three of my siblings curled up in the corner, crying. I also heard a lot of noise coming from downstairs.

"Stay up here with them, I'm going to go see what she's doing" I kept my voice low, too scared of her hearing. I know I have to put on a brave face for everyone, but on the inside, I'm just as scared as they are. Before Amethyst has time to protest, I'm already creeping down the stairs.

Once I'm at the bottom, I peek my head out to see my mom chugging from a beer bottle. She always gets drunk when she has an episode. Then she passes out afterwards, and ends up going to the hospital. I have to lie about what happened so me, or my siblings, won't get sent to an orphanage.

She didn't notice me at first, but once she threw her bottle against the wall, causing it to shatter everywhere, she charged towards me. This left me confused. She has never gone physical with any of her children. Before I had the chance to move, I was knocked on to the ground, hitting my head on the banister in the process. ((A banister is the railing on the stairs if you've never heard banister before)) She pulled me up and flung me into a pile of broken beer bottles.

I heard someone running down the stairs, and the last thing I remember seeing was the horrified look on Amethyst's face, before I blacked out.

Amethyst's POV

We climbed in through her window, the sound of glass breaking and kids crying filled my ears. We rushed over to her siblings.

"Stay here, I'm going to go see what's going on" she whispered in my ear. Before I could protest, she was already running down the stairs.
Now, time to help the children.

I sat down in front of them, thinking of what to say. I was taken from my thoughts when I felt something cling to me. I looked down to see her little sister. I just hugged her back.

"Everything will be okay in the end, and if it's not okay, then it's not the end" that's what I was always told growing up.

"Wh-who are you?" The older boy asked. He wasn't being rude, just curious. I smiled to myself.

"I'm Sapphire's best friend, what's your names?" I said. He readjusted how he was sitting so the little boy could sit on his lap, before answering.

"I'm Chris, this is Benjy, and that's Beatrice, but we call her Bea" he motioned to them as he spoke.

Before I could answer, I heard a loud bang and a scream. Sapphire. It had to be her. I quickly detached Bea from me and ran down the stairs. I saw the most scariest sight I've ever seen. Sapphire was laying in a pile of broken glass, knocked out.

"Chris! Call the police!" I yelled to him as I rushed over to Sapphire.

"Kitten, please be okay. I don't want to live without you again. You make me happy" I whispered, picking her up so she was in my lap. I had tears streaming down my face when the sound of sirens was heard. "I love you"

They took her away on a stretcher, and her mom away in a police car. I was getting in a different police car with her siblings, heading to the hospital. I knew I had to be strong, but I couldn't help the tears silently falling down my face. I had Bea on my lap and Benjy and Chris to my right. I would feel so bad if they lost both their mother and older sister. Where are they going to go now? They can't go to an orphanage. Sapphire needs to be okay. I'm almost 18, we can move into an apartment. Sapphire and I can get jobs and everything will work out. I hope.

We pulled up to the hospital and got out of the car. I thanked the police before he drove away. We rushed in and went up to the front desk. There was an older looking lady with glasses and dull blue scrubs. She was typing away at a computer. She wasn't going to be looking up anytime soon so I just tapped on the counter, making her look up.

"Visiting or are one of you sick?" She asked. God, her voice is annoying.

"Visiting. Her name is Sapphire Hinder. She was just brought in" I said, bouncing a crying Bea on my hip.

"Ah, yes. That poor girl. She is being looked at now, but you can go wait in the waiting room on the third floor. That's where she will be" she pointed to the elevator. I just nodded and we walked over to the elevator.

"Sissy, will Sapphy be okay?" Bea asked. My heart jumped at her calling me sissy. I was debating if I should go with my gut or heart. My gut being 'I hope so' and my heart being 'yes, she's a strong girl'. I went with my heart on this one.

"Yes, she will. She's strong, and she has talked so much about watch you guys grow up into amazing people" I said, noticing that Chris has started to calm down, along with the twins.

The elevator dinged, signaling we were on the third floor. We walked out and sat down, but once we sat down, I notice someone. More like, someones. It was the bullies. They were sitting right across from us. I just looked at my feet, Bea sitting in my lap, almost asleep. Chris was to my left, with Benjy sitting on his lap.

I saw a flash coming from there direction. I looked up to see one of them taking pictures of me. I looked like a mess, red eyes, tear stained cheeks, my hair in a messy bun, heck, I had my glasses on. I never wear my glasses! I was also in a nirvana shirt and sweatpants. They were giggling as if this were the funniest thing ever.

"Did someone get hit by a bus on their way over here?" One laughed, causing them all to laugh even harder.

"Are you with your kids, slutbag? Oh wait, I forgot. Fags can't have kids" another one said. It's not what they were saying that made me angry, but it was the fact that they would bring the kids into it.

"I'm surprised anyone would even trust you with anything" the insults just came shooting out. People were now staring.

"Why don't you go and find some other faggots that will actually love you? Oh wait, no one will ever love... that" my blood was boiling inside me. Before I could get up and walk away, Benjy was already marching over to them. Oh no. I tried grabbing him but he got away.

"Listhen up, buckoths. She's my new friend, and I love her. I don't like you boysth. You're very rude to mine and my sisthers best friend" he spat. I saw them wipe their faces. I snatched Benjy away before he could hit them, or they could hurt him.

I walked us over to the other end of the waiting room. We had been waiting for nearly an hour or two and the kids were getting ansey. I was going to take them outside so they could get some fresh air, when I heard my name being called. I twirled around to be face to face with a doctor.

"Are you here for Sapphire Jane Hinder?" He asked. I nodded, my heart speeding up.

"Follow me, I need to show you something" he lead us to a room and my jaw dropped when he opened the door.

A/N: sorry I haven't updated. I've been busy dealing with friend issues. I've lost some 'friends', which makes my life easier. I've also gained three amazing internet friends! I just want to say thank you to my friend for nearly three years, sophia, and my three new friends, lily, maya, and Alexis. You four mean so much to me!

I'll try and update soon, but Im going to six flags today. It's currently 12:53AM and I should be asleep, but instead, I'm updating for you guys.
