Chapter 2

A/N: Sapphire is pictured at the top/side. I did not update when I wanted to, but that's because I've been busy. I won't be updating everyday, but I will try and update as much as possible. I hope you enjoy chapter two.

Amethyst's POV

The familiar sound of elevator music filled my ears. I rolled over, only to be met with a shooting pain throughout my entire body. Today was going to be a long day. How was I going to survive what happens at school? I push the thought aside and trudge to the bathroom, looking at my bruise covered body. I went into my usual routine, taking an even longer amount of time covering up my bruises. Once I'm done, I head out of the house, wincing as I trip over my own feet and fall face first on to the concrete. I feel a hand grab mine and help me up. I look to see who it was, and to my surprise, a girl with brown hair and blue eyes was staring back at me.

"Are you okay?" She asks, obviously concerned. She had an innocent voice, she looked innocent. She was quite attractive. I nodded.

"I'm Sapphire, I just moved here from Melbourne" she stuck her hand out for me to shake. I hesitantly put my hand in hers, shaking it. Then it hits me like a bus. This is the girl I'm doing the project with, she's the new girl everyone has been talking about. Wow. I stutter up an answer.

"I-I'm Amethyst" I look down at my feet. I can feel her eyes staring at me.

"Do you want to walk to school together?" She asked, and with that, we were off to school.

Once we enter the building, the hallways got quite, and only faint whispers could be heard. We walked over to her locker, which just so happened to be right next to mine. We grabbed what we needed and headed to class. I was surprised that I wasn't attacked. Was Sapphire my good luck charm or something? We didn't have many classes together, only ELA and music, but two is better than none. I walked her to math, which is her first class, and then headed back to mine. When the bullies came into view, I started to panic. Would they attack? Surely not considering my class was right there, but since when do they care? I sped up my walking. They obviously saw me and started walking towards me. I was running at this point. I yanked open the science door right when the bell rang. They all gave me death glares as I sat down, sighing in relief. That was close.

My first three classes went by faster than normal, as I actually payed attention. I'm not sure what got into me, I guess I was just so eager to see Sapphire, that I needed to get my mind off her for the time to go by faster. Once the bell rang, I was out of that classroom, heading towards the girls bathroom, which is where I told her to meet me. Once she's in sight, I speed walk over to her.

"Hey" I say. She turned around with a smile on her face.

"Hey" she replied.

"I want to show you something" I say before pulling her out the back doors with me, heading towards the bleachers.

"Where are we going?" She asked. "Are you going to murder me?" I could basically hear her smirk.

"yea, with love" I mumble under my breath. I could hear her giggle. Crap. Did she hear that?

"I wouldn't mind that" I lightly punch her shoulder.

"When did you come out?" She bluntly asked, as we sat under the bleachers.

"When I was fifteen. I sat my parents down and was like 'hey, you're grand kids will be adopted, unless science makes it so two girls can have sex and get pregnant'. My dad was excepting, but my mom just got up and left the house. I've never seen her since" I looked at the ground, not wanting to make eye contact. I felt arms wrap around me.
