What If It Had Been Different, You Know?

"What?" my voice felt lost.

He cocked his head to the side, his smirk turning into a sly smile. "I still need to place the TNT of course but once that's done, L'Manburg...or Manburg. Will be no more."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing , "But Wilbur- L'Manburg is our home...it's your unfinished symphony! You can't just destroy it because-because I kissed another guy!" I yelled.

"Hahaha, oh, darling I'm doing it for much more than just that, so many people betrayed me, and I lost what belonged to me. Now I'm just taking everything back...even if it means blowing it up." His voice sounded like a deranged lunatic.

I took that as a moment to slip out and run to the door, I turned around quickly, Wilbur still standing there.

"I wish I could still love you Wilbur, but- but you're not the man I once loved. You're just the shell of who he used to be." my voice shaking, I slammed the door behind me.

He would not get to see me cry, to see me fall. I would save L'Manburg, the only place that had felt like home. I would do whatever it took.

I stormed back out from where Technoblade had taken me, my pace never slowing. Rath and my fear of Wilbur ran through me as I stormed my way back to the castle. He was the only one who could stop this, and he cared about me. Or at least somewhat cared about me.

I've traveled this path what felt like a hundred times and every time it was for the same man every time. Dream. He was the center of my troubles and comfort, but he was always what I needed. Every time the castle came into view my stomach twisted into knots that made me want to throw up.

I hoped this would all end, my mind flashed to Tubbo and Tommy. I wondered how Tommy spent that much time with Wilbur, two kids who were being forced to grow up too quickly, without going insane.

I would get the help we all needed. I walked through the front gates, and luckily no one was there, I wanted to just find Dream and get out. I made my way down the hallway, poking my head in any open doors, I found no one in the meeting room or any other room.

When finally I found some sort of office, a desk near a window in the corner and a large red rug in the middle. I was about to turn around when I heard something, a creak on the floor.

Before I could fully turn around I felt two hands grab my shoulders and pin me against the wall. My face was fully pressed against the wall, so much so that I thought my jaw was going to break. However I was quickly let go after I'm assuming, they figured out who I was.

"What are you doing here?" I heard Sapnap's voice call from behind me, as I slowly turned to face him.

"I'm looking for someone," I reply vaguely.

"Uh, huh. Then why were you sneaking around my office?" he asks with raised brows.

I sigh and walk over to the window looking out to the community house down below.

"Have you ever wondered what would have happened...if Wilbur had won the election?" I asked, turning to face him.

He seemed utterly confused as to why I was asking him such a preposterous question, but he answered,

"Yeah...actually, ever since I met you actually."

"Me?" I laugh breathlessly.

"Yeah," he says, walking over to join me by the window, "You haven't been here long, but you seem to have an effect on whoever you meet."

He's no longer looking at me, "Ever since that first meeting...my point of view on everything has changed. Even before then when we captured you...you were so funny and almost kind to people who had shown you nothing but...harm."
