Comfort in a Storm

"Do you guys actually have a plan on how we're going to stop Wilbur?" Quackity asks when we finally get away from Manburg.

I turn towards Dream and the others for an answer, which they don't say anything and keep walking.

I roll my eyes and answer myself, "I'm going to try and talk to him at the festival...even though last time didn't go great. However this time maybe with extra backup I'll feel less...scared. Last time we talked it was just us and he was really frightening."

Nobody said much afterwards, Fundy seemed to avoid my gaze, only Dream's hand grazing mine kept me zoned in.

The festival was tomorrow and we didn't have much time to plan and devise a plan. However with the Dream Team's skills I knew we at least stood a fighting chance.

In preparation we spent our time in Eret's George's castle.

George went to brew potions, like those of invisibility.

Sapnap and Punz went to the forge to prepare armor and weapons.

Fundy and Quackity went to spar in case they would need to fight at the festival.

Then you and Dream got time to talk... as you enchanted.

Well, he did while you sat and watched.

"So when did all you guys come here?" you asked to break the silence.

Dreams head tilted up but his face was still focused on his task, "Hmm?" he hummed as his eyes met mine, he was so cute, "Oh...first it was me and George then Sapnap joined us a little later. Punz didn't join until later."

"I see," I said nodding along to what he said, "So you guys created the community house then."

"Yep, it took a while but we did it. Now it just houses everyone's junk." he mumbles, he walked over to a chest to grab more lapis.

"Well it's still a staple of the server. Like you, being the Dream SMP after all." I smirk, crossing my legs over the crafting table I was using as a seat.

"Yeah right," he scoffs, making me frown, "No one respects me, that's why L'Manburg pissed me off so much. They wouldn't listen to my authority."

"Well now you have an even bigger issue: an asshole who will never listen or be reasoned with." I mention as he sits back beside the enchantment table.

"Yeah... once we deal with everything, what are you going to end up doing?" he asks, somewhat quietly.

I had never really thought of that before, I had thought about stopping Wilbur but never really what would happen afterwards. Would I want to stay here? Or more importantly would my dad want to stay here?

"I-I don't know, I haven't thought that far ahead yet." I say, "I would like to stay but truthfully I would want to be as far from my dad as possible."

I heard him clear his throat before he spoke, "So if he stayed you would...leave."

"Yeah. Most likely." I whisper.

We stay quiet for a moment, Dream doesn't even start enchanting again.

"What if you didn't have to be afraid of him anymore." he says breathlessly.

My head raises at this, he's looking at me now.

"Yeah, you could stay with me, I could protect you. Or even train you to fight for yourself, that way you could stay." he uttered, he started to walk over looking down at my sitting position.

"You would do that for me?" I ask, even though I already know the answer.

"Yes, I would do anything for you." he speaks softly.

As I think he's about to kiss me he does something unexpected, and brings his head behind his head.

Click

The sound of a buckle rings through the room, and his mask falls into my lap.

I glance up to be met by a stranger.

Although a pretty one.

With sharp facial features, a light bundle of freckles and crystal blue eyes, he looks as if he was a mythical being.

Perfect.

"I know it's ugly." he mumbles, pulling away.

"What do you mean?" I ask quickly, grabbing his hand.

He raises my hand and draws it towards his cheek as he turns a small scar comes into view.

"Dream..." I whisper.

"That's why you were staring right." he mutters.

"No I was staring because I was trying to memorize everything about your face because it's beautiful. Dream you're perfect." I say every word as I trace the side of his face holding it between both my hands.

A small blush appears on his cheeks, "Thanks, you're not too bad yourself."

I chuckle before his lips crash onto mine, and it's not like the past two kisses where they were ignited by confusion, hurt and anger. This kiss was filled with promises, care and hope.

It made me think about everything that had happened to lead up to this moment, and what we had to get through tomorrow. It was scary but I knew at least Dream would be there for me, physically and mentally.

"Do you think tomorrow will go well?" I ask as we pull away from him.

He tucks some hair behind my ear and now it's my turn to blush.

"How about we leave those questions for tomorrow? Huh?" he hums as he starts to nip at my neck.

"Fine... but only because you're very convincing." I giggle as he starts to smile.

He stops bringing his hands on top of mine, "I care so much about you, you know that right?"

"Of course." I say, nodding.

"I think... I love you." he confessed.

I gaze deep into his eyes, "I love you too."

We met again in a kiss.
