As I walked out of the Ravenclaw common room and headed towards the Quidditch pitch, I could barely contain my excitement. Cho had been talking about trying out for the Keeper position for weeks, and today was the big day. We had all agreed to come and support her, eager to see how she fared.

The crisp, cool air of the pitch greeted us as we arrived. The stands were already filled with a few students, some cheering for their friends, others just there for the spectacle. Cho was on the field, practicing some last-minute drills with a few of her friends before the official tryouts began.

I spotted Marietta and Jay already seated in the stands, waving at me. I joined them, and we settled in, discussing how amazing Cho was going to be.

"Think Cho's got this in the bag?" Marietta asked, her eyes glued to the pitch.

"I'm sure she'll do great," I replied. "She's been practicing non-stop."

Jay nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I've seen her flying. She's definitely got the skills."

The whistle blew, signaling the start of the Keeper tryouts. Cho took her place in front of the goalposts, her face a mask of determination. She flew with grace and precision, diving to stop the Quaffle with skill that drew gasps and cheers from the crowd.

One by one, the other candidates took their turns, and Cho's performance remained stellar. Her saves were impressive, and she seemed to be in top form. I was so proud watching her, knowing how much effort she'd put into getting here.

After the final whistle blew, the candidates gathered around, and the selectors—senior players from the Quidditch team—began discussing their choices. Cho stood with her friends, a hopeful look on her face.

When the team captain began to announce the results, the tension was thick. "And the new Keeper for the Ravenclaw team is..." The crowd hushed, and the selectors continued, "We're pleased to announce that Brennan Doyle has been selected for the Keeper position!"

The stands erupted in applause, and Cho's face fell. The three of us walked up and gave her our condolences.

After the congratulations were finished, the team captain, Sirona Ryan, walked up to Cho. "Hey, you did great out there. It was only after much deliberation that we decided someone else might be better suited for the role of Keeper."

Cho stood tall, her disappointment clear but subdued. "However, we'd like to offer you an opportunity to try out for Chaser instead," Sirona added. "We believe you have potential in that position as well."

I saw Cho's face fall momentarily, but she quickly masked her disappointment with determination. I walked over to her, giving her a reassuring smile. "You're going to be great, Cho. Go show them what you've got as a Chaser."

Cho nodded, taking a deep breath as she walked back onto the pitch for her Chaser tryout. Though she looked a bit disappointed, her resolve was evident as she took her position and began to demonstrate her skills.

The tryout began, and Cho moved with impressive agility, showing off her flying abilities and precision in passing the Quaffle. Her movements were fluid and controlled, and she executed every maneuver with skill. Sirona watched closely, her expressions gradually changing from skepticism to admiration.

When the tryouts were over, the team captians huddled together, their discussion animated. After a short wait, they emerged with the final announcement. "We'd like to extend a warm welcome to Cho Chang, who has impressed us greatly as a Chaser. We're thrilled to have her join the Ravenclaw team!"

The stands erupted in cheers, and Cho's face brightened with a genuine smile of triumph. I rushed over to her, along with Marietta and Jay, and we enveloped her in a group hug.

"Congratulations, Cho!" I exclaimed. "You were amazing out there."

Marietta added, "You showed them just how talented you are, no matter the position."

Jay clapped her on the back. "Yeah, you're going to be a fantastic Chaser. I'm so excited for you."

Cho looked around at her friends, her eyes shining with gratitude and tears. "Thanks, everyone. I'm a bit disappointed about not being Keeper, but I'm still super excited for this. I couldn't have done it without your support."

As we left the pitch, the sense of excitement and accomplishment was evident on Cho's face. Cho's new role as a Chaser was just the beginning, and I was thrilled to see where this season would take her.
