022. surgery & a surprise (real life)
It was finally the day that Nevaeh had been waiting on. desperately. She was about to get her knee fixed. she wasn't scared or nervous. If anything, she felt relieved. even thought she was still gonna have to be put for the season, it felt nice to know that after her knee gets healed, she'll be able to play.
Or until she gets cleared.
It was currently 5 in the morning, and Nevaeh was putting on clothes with the help of her girlfriend. She was excited, which was weird to her friends.
"Why are you happy about this?" Aubrey asked, smiling down at her girlfriend. they had both woken up about 10 minutes ago and their faces were still puffy.
"Because, I'm getting closer and closer to playing volleyball again." Vaeh replied happily, grabbing her crutches from Aubrey. "Tie my hair back." Aubrey did as told and braided the girls straight hair down before putting a hair wrapper on the bottom of it.
"Alright, let's rollll," Aubrey said, she was trying to be excited as well. trying to match Vaeh energy so the girl could continue to be positive. She followed behind Nevaeh, holding her belongings while vee slowly walked with-her crutches.
When they made it to the hospital, Vee had to change into a gown. they both waited for the doctors to roll Vee to the OR.
Aubrey held Nevaeh's hand, kissing it repeatedly. Saying soft, kind words to her. and affirming positive thoughts to her. "Everything's going to be fine. you gonna be back on the court with kailyn in no time." Aubrey said.
The doctor finally came out and he and a couple other nurses began to prepare her for her trip to the OR. Aubrey kissed her girl on the lips, "I love you."
"I love you too."

The surgery was successful. when aubrey got the word that the surgery was done and her girl was okay, she called all of their friends and they immediately went to the hospital.
She had begged Porsha and Nathan to let Nolan come see his sister since she had been so down about not being able to see or talk to him. Aubrey had to endure the temper and sadness that flowed from her girl these days. Nevaeh wasn't her normal self and Aubrey didn't like that.
