It had been a week since our engagement, and I couldn't stop thinking about him. We had exchanged numbers, but neither of us had called the other. He texted me once, but it was just a brief conversation that left me wanting more.

I heard footsteps approaching and guessed it was Celina. Since my engagement day, she had been telling me that I was smiling too much. She claimed she had never seen me this happy before.

"Here's your lemon iced tea," she said, passing me the glass.

I took a sip, savoring its refreshing taste. I knew I would miss this drink after my marriage. Maybe I could convince Dad to let Celina come with me.

"Have I ever told you how much I love your Polish accent?" I blurted out unexpectedly.

"What?" Typical Celina reaction.

"Maybe you could share the recipe for this so I can make it myself after I'm married."

"My girl, if your mom were still alive, she would be so content seeing your cheerful smile." Celina seemed to be ignoring my question, perhaps overwhelmed by the feeling of me getting married.

"Yes, she would have." A small smile occurred on my face as I remembered her.

I handed the glass back to Celina and flopped onto my bed, staring up at the ceiling. "A week ago, I wasn't sure if I was ready for marriage, but now, after meeting Evren, everything just feels so right."

She smiled softly, a knowing glint in her eyes. "God has always had good things in store for you."

I turned my head to face her, curiosity getting the best of me. "Can I ask you something?"

"Of course, Fria."

I hesitated for a moment, then asked, "Why didn't you ever get married?" At her age, Celina still possessed a timeless beauty, a presence that could make any man fall at her feet. I was genuinely curious. "I mean, why not?"

Celina paused, her eyes thoughtful, as if she was reflecting on memories long past. "I never really thought about marriage, not in the way others do. Then, when I came here with your mother, life took a different turn, and I found my purpose in other things." She gave a small, wistful smile, her gaze distant. "Some paths are just meant to be walked alone."
